Blog Number 186: "Another Flower For My Garden" Edition
Have finally broken out of my funk and written something complete. Want to write more, more, MORE! Oho, you better believe we are just gettin' STARTED here, folks!
Life lesson I learned (again! 🙄): no plan survives contact with reality. There's always a curveball. On the plus side, they might be surprise parties too.
In my case, while I'm still committed to my larger long-term projects, I did go off-script for a while and venture a shorter fic. This was between writing bouts, all part of an attempt to follow some of the advice I received whilst remaining flexible. Namely, that if one project starts flagging, it might be a good time to try another while I recharged.
To my delight, I actually managed it. I managed to write something to completion! My gosh, it's been months. November 2021 was the last time I remember completing anything before things went wrong. I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever experience the thrill again. Yet here we are, with my first fic for 2022, and others slowly but surely on the way.
Boy oh boy, I can't tell you how GOOD that feels! 😎
OK, I should be thinking more pragmatically now, but seriously: so far, it's been a breath of fresh air coming back. I feel like a new writer. And I've got even more plans in the pipeline than ever before. Stay tuned, folks! With any luck, it won't be nearly as long before my next fic is ready to greet the world.

Well done, buddy! Nothing quite like that feeling of elation to put something out there, especially something make quickly in a burst of energy and enthusiasm. Sometimes, that's what it's all about.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll be able to will this into more positive momentum, and keep it going. Onward and upwards!

Nothing, indeed. Well, using it as a speed boost is definitely part of the plan, so here's hoping the writing projects get easier over time, and I can get back to my former output levels.
One good thing about the long hiatus is that I've had plenty of time to think about where I want to go with this whole deal. Maybe even come back stronger.
But for now, I'm just pleased as punch to get this much done.
