Hey so, want your opinion on a couple ideas I have in relation to YouTube · 10:22am Aug 15th, 2022
Hiya, Zak here, also known as The_0b5erver, but hopefully you've figured that out. If not, then well, it's not such a big deal for today's blog. Yeah, I know, I don't say this very often; don't get worried though, we'll get right back to the usual comedic endings in the next entry of Zak's blogzzare adventures.
Anyhow, onto the topic of this post:
YouTube! We've all heard of it, right? Don't answer, if you managed to find your way over to this blog, you're most definitely an avid internet user and are therefore a youtube pro. Now, I need your educated opinion on two things:
1. Recording my blog posts in audio format with some random backdrop.
2. Recording story readings (not limited to my work)
Let's first expand on the second point, because that's not what you'd expect me to do.
The question with this one, lies in the fact that I'm not much of a voice actor, but I do (allegedly) have an OK voice. I've already done a couple readings in discord VCs, which were approved of by the attending persons. Of course, being done live, it means I can afford to take myself less seriously and overall have some banter; but doing it has actually been a lot of fun, and even when reading alone I now sometimes start to read out loud just for fun. At the same time, I know that a lot of people prefer to have the entire story voice acted to some extent, which leaves me wondering whether this is worth doing.
Now, that's question two done, so we can move onto one.
This one is a lot quirkier than the last, as I haven't actually seen anyone do it. The idea is just to create a more lively and engaging medium for me to communicate with you guys, and it's not backed up by any research to it's effectiveness. I'll likely end up trying it out a couple times, but what I want to know is whether you'd even look at the possibility of clicking a link to a youtube video which says the exact same thing as the blog if I attached it at the top of these blogs.
Now that we've looked at these two ideas more in-depth, feel free to give your opinion on them.
