It's here!
After a long time, I've finally got a foot back in the writing side of the Price of Loyalty universe. It's been a long time coming, honestly. I'm really excited to be back.
If you noticed which story I marked this as a sequel to, you'll notice it's not tagged to Snow and Shadows. That's because this story takes place almost 40 years after that story, and the jump from S&S to this one is so extreme that little would make sense to have just gone from one to the other. Instead, I've tagged it as a story to the second (and ongoing) of LoyalLiar's pair of ancient Equestria Price of Loyalty stories. A Beginner's Guide to Heroism and Tales from Everfree City both take place in Equestria after it was founded in Snow and Shadows and give a window into what the nation looks like in the years following the creation of the nation. That's the scenario and setting The Sparrow in the Storm is coming from, albeit many years down the line.
There will be a lot of questions and speculation as to what's the backstory in this story, and that's intentional. This story is likely to be a long one, a slow burn that explores a lot of things about the state of the world and slowly unearths the mystery presented to the reader in chapter one: what happened to Equestria, and why is Typhoon on her own in the south? Answers will come a little at a time, in bits and pieces. I look forward to seeing the speculation as it unfolds.
