Shamelessly self-promoting my video content, because why not? · 3:44pm Feb 5th, 2022
This blog is made in service of promoting my YouTube channel, the videos of which include podcast episodes made by my friend and I, and also some solo videos relating to Keyforge.
If that doesn't sound interesting to you, no worries! Most of you are probably only here for my fanfics, which is great! I appreciate the support. Take care out there.
If you're at all worried that I'm suddenly spreading my time too thin when I could be working on Trigger Happy, don't be. The podcasts my friend and I partake in aren't exactly some huge project. We were already chatting to each other over Discord regularly anyway, and decided we could make things interesting by coming up with various topics and exchanging opinions, then keeping recordings of said discussions. Similarly with Keyforge, I'd already been playing it on and off for the past couple years, so recording gameplay and discussions was just a new way of having fun with the game.
Anyhoo... If you're still here, I'll give more of an overview to the content you'll expect on my channel:
Cloud 9 Point 5
My friend and I (under the pseudonyms Slick Tails and Sarroh Vale) discuss various topics, mostly relating to nerd culture. Books, movies, TV shows, anime, manga, video games, tabletop games, etc. Our first episode sees us introduce ourselves and give some information about the things we're into, while following episodes have us tackling particular topics, such as widely hated pieces of media that we actually really like, or tiny little nitpicks that, for whatever reason, completely ruined our experiences. Expect lots of opinions that you don't agree with, some passionate nerd talk, some rage, and us poking fun at various series. This isn't any kind of professional production, just something fun that we put together.
As an aside, it should be noted that my friend Sarroh suffers from schizophrenia, manic depression and anxiety. Taking part in this podcast is part of his support system to help deal with his condition, so please take his issues into account when considering any potential criticism.
Keyforge
It's a card game. You've probably never heard of it. *Adjusts hipster glasses and smirks smugly, tipping my fedora* More accurately, it's a card game designed by Richard Garfield - co-creator of Magic: The Gathering - which I played when it first released in November 2018 and have been acutely obsessed with ever since. Videos include peeking into my deck collection and thoughts on the game, but mostly just gameplay from TCO, an unofficial online client. I don't expect many of you to be at all interested, but hey, maybe it happens. Alternatively, you could check out my articles on r/HobbyDrama: (1-LANS) (2-Bait and Switch) (3-Archimedes) (4-Joe Huber) or my guest spots on an actual professional podcast called Call of Discovery: (Episode 88) (Episode 89)
Thanks for reading! Hopefully there's something here that you find interesting, but if not, no worries. Now where did I put my notes for Trigger Happy? I wonder if my readers will know which anime series and which tabletop game I lifted ideas from for the next chapter... (It's not called ripping off! It's called inspiration! I promise!)
