Jinglemas is the annual tradition on Fimfiction to exchange stories around the holidays with users on the site. This single event allows all Fimfiction users to come together and celebrate the reason for the season. Ponies!
Enroll in this Secret-Santa-style gift exchange to request a holiday themed story, to be written secretly by another participant during the month of December. And in turn, you will be tasked with writing someone else's request. Then all the stories will be exchanged at Christmas! Simplicity itself! Thanks to the hard work of the Breezies, everyone will be ensured to get their gift!

To everypony saying that they shouldn't be announcing this because it isn't Halloween/Nightmare Night yet:
If I'm honest, I feel your pain. I find it just as annoying when all of the Christmas/Hearth's Warming stuff starts being celebrated before Nightmare Night is over and done with. It feels like we're ignoring hundreds of other celebrations, and it drives me batty when ponies start talking about Hearth's Warming months before it happens.
But with Jinglemas, there is a good reason to make the announcement early. The whole thing takes so much effort to organise, and everypony who enters needs a good month to write their story. So I ask you, please don't be too hard on the ponies who make this thing happen each year, even if you're a little disgruntled. They have a lot of work to do to make sure everypony gets their presents this year.

As much as I hate xmas stuff before Halloween, yes, this is necessary.
The schedule is a month to raise awareness of the event, enroll everyone, and organize assignments; which is a lot of work in and of itself! Then it's another month to give everyone time to actually write for the exchange in time for Christmas. And offsetting everything for the 25th of December lands us here, unfortunately.
Enrollment: Oct 24nd - Nov 24th
Writing: Nov 25th - Dec 24
Exchange: Dec 24 ~ 26th*

As much as I would love to join, I'm still getting the hang of writing stories. Maybe next year when I've gotten better at writing. Can't wait to see the stories when they're published though

I mean by serious it means "don't blow it off or treat it as a joke." But you should certainly have fun writing it. I mean, I think 3/4 of the stories I've done for Jinglemas have been comedies.
