Thousands of tags, just makes finding the correct tags difficult. Both for the reader who has no idea what tags there may be, but also for the writer who has sift through them all to find the proper labels.
(And if a writer misses the FG tag, people who do know about it and includes it will not find it.)

But since crossovers are common, perhaps some tags grouping it together could be invented?

• US-Sitcom/Adult for Family Guy, The Simpsons, American Dad.
• US-Younger for Kung Fu Panda, Legend of Korra, Steven Universe, etc.
• Non-US (For example Japanese anime x2 categories)

Maybe if someone with experience could suggest something like that so they could revamp/bundle/merge old into new?
