Yo, what's up everyone? How's it going. I'm here with my... what year is it? Ah, yes, 2021.
I'm here with my annual blog post, because let's be real, I've been disconnected from this fandom since like 2016. But I was digging through a lot of old screenshots I had, and had a lot of fond memories of my time in the MLP fandom.
So, for anyone who still follows me, for anyone who cares to read this: How's it going? What's new? What have I been missing out on for the past five years? Last I knew, a character called Starlight Glimmer was introduced. Now I'm pretty sure the show has officially finished. Did it have a good ending? Who's still writing fanfics and keeping up with all the MLP craziness?
I'm curious how you're all doing. I miss this sometimes. Being in the fandom, being in a moderator position for two of the biggest fan sites for a worldwide phenomenon. Don't think I'll ever see something like this again! The early 2010s were an exciting time, and I met a lot of awesome people through this fandom.
As for me, I've moved on. Have a different username/handle now, which I'll be keeping a secret because I like separating these different "eras" of my life. You all still know me as Alexstrazsa, or just Alex, so let's go with what's familiar. I'm big into speedrunning and Twitch now, along with streaming. That's been fun, and I've met even more great people through that. The internet really is a wonderful (and terrible sometimes) creation.
I'm rambling now, so I'll just leave it there! Not sure if I'll stick around, but it's always nice to check in here every so often.
Y'know, I think about Alex sometimes. Remember the good times. I miss him. But it's like I can almost hear his voice...
Show's over, last two seasons were garbage, last four seasons were actually garbage if you ask the right people, you didn't miss much. :B

I think there have been a lot of new characters with cool art, especially the Kirin (dragon ponies). Starlight's cool, although it took awhile to even out her character. They kind of stuck her into the mane cast in a dumb way.
I still haven't watched all of the last season, but the filly that got turned to stone forever had it coming.
I've heard that there's a 10th season canonically (maybe semi-canonically) in comic form. G5 is looking like it may come out well, but only time will tell.
There has actually been a big spike in account signups on this site. Mostly readers for now I guess, since approved stories are holding steady. It's interesting to see though. And I've seen a few people coming back after years to update their stories, such as Loyal2Luna. I'm excited to see her continue her Mass Effect crossover. I've found myself reading more crossovers these days than straight MLP fics.
What kind of games do you like to speed run? I'm not big into that space, but a friend of mine is.
My only question is are you rich now?

Pizza is legit. Seems to be mixed reactions on the seasons I missed, maybe it's better I stopped! And interesting that Fimfic has been picking up recently. I wonder what caused that. As far as speedrun games, FPS ones for now. There's one in particular I focus on, but I've been adding others to my repertoire. Been thinking about starting SM64 too.

Yeah... I can't say I'm a big fan of the change to 3D but the designs are nice and what little they've shown hasn't been bad so I'm optimistic. Just have to wait and see, I think it comes out near the end of the year.

Holy cow, I get on for the first time in months to see Alex making a blog post. It's been a hot minute lol. I don't read a ton of fanfic anymore, but I have some good memories.
I'm still here, unfortunately. Last two season were uneven but the young six are A+ characters. New movie is pretty lit and Izzy Moonbow is new best pony.

I tend to wonder damn the fandom must be dead if guys like you are no longer active.
