Why am I writing this story · 1:36am Apr 3rd, 2021
One of my stories in this blogpost was about the idea of Twilight substitute teaching for Ms. Cheerilee, only to realize that the topic was the "birds and the bees".
Well, over the past handful of days, I wrote it . Right now I still need to go through and make everything flow better, but the bulk of the one-shot is there. It's a bit of a departure from what I'm usually comfortable with, but it was kinda fun and challenging to write things without going for vulgar or shock humor. Here's a small snippet:
"Now, as I'm sure you're all aware, these have many different names, but today we'll be using the proper terminology."
Twilight pointed to the female organ. "Can anypony tell me proper name for this?"
"A'int that the pistil?" Apple Bloom replied.
"No, but that's close to the other one," said Twilight, writing its proper name with chalk just below the diagram. "What about this one?" She continued, hovering the chalk next to the male organ.
Scootaloo raised her hoof. "The stamen?"
"...No," Twilight replied slowly. "Anypony else?"
"The calyx?" Another student replied.
"No..." Her voice trailed once more. She had been expecting more vulgar or immature terminology in their responses, and was too caught off guard to notice any similarities those words had to other topics.
"This is the male reproductive organ," she said aloud, giving them one more chance to provide the correct answer.
"The pistil?" Said Snips.
Twilight resisted the urge to smack her forehead before responding. "No, that's what Apple Bloom said."
That should be enough to give you a gist of what the gag is all about. Or at least I hope it is. Expect the story to be released sometime next week. I feel embarrassed already.
Now, how would Twilight the Eternal Dweeb recognize "vulgar" terminology?

"The Compendium of Vulgar Terminology, Volume III" of course!
I'm looking forward to seeing this!
Heh, they've apparently learned about flower reproduction already.

Yup, that's the gag. I wanted to write the story in a way that made Twilight the butt of the joke, rather than it just being an actual planned lesson.

Thanks! And I might actually release it later today. It's feeling more complete now after several editing passes.
Also...I just realized that I will be releasing this pretty much at Easter, which was originally a holiday that celebrated fertility and sex. I swear I didn't plan that.

Of course! How silly of me!
