EqD's Newbie Artist Training Grounds

As of writing this, today is the last day of Equestria Daily's "Newbie Artist Training Grounds", which I rather serendipitously stumbled upon days before this year's month-long event began, never having been aware of it before. Every day for the past month, I've been uploading sketches and drawings to my DeviantArt and submitting them to the event on EqD, and I've really enjoyed it. After writing fiction stories as basically my main creative outlet for so many years, it was really refreshing to get into something visual.

So I know anybody reading this has likely followed me for my story content, but in a way that's kind of why I'm here. This might be too ambitious for my skills with where they're at, but after having gone through the last month and improved a fair amount, I kind of want to tackle something more ambitious, like a comic with more than 2 or 3 panels that isn't just supposed to be funny.

Looking for inspiration of a story to tell, I (eventually) realized that...I have literally dozens of stories to choose from right here! And after a quick perusal of ones I think could adapt well to a comic, I think FlutterSigh might be one of them. It's visually descriptive, it's relatively contained, and I can think of a lot of fun gags in the text that could be really great visually. The only problem is that after glancing over the story, I could easily see how it would become *dozens* upon dozens of individual panels (which on its own is one thing, but I also sketch on paper before translating to digital using a vector/pathing tool, which adds more time).

All in all, I suppose I'm just airing my thoughts here. Maybe I should focus on something less ambitious? Or maybe I should just commit to a simpler style and see how things go. As far as continued writings go, I don't have any current plans, but it wouldn't be the first time I've gone without publishing for a while. But right now, I'm on a bit of an art kick, so 'tis what it is I suppose. In that line, however, maybe a new story in a comic would be a happy medium between the two?

Oh, but how to follow an artist on Derpibooru anyway? I've been using it for over 2 years yet I still don't know how to do that. Maybe there isn't a function for that? I don't know really.

More are already on the way! I finished page two and the sketch for page three is already done (will upload #2 tomorrow probably). This pace will surely not continue, but sometimes you just gotta push through when the motivation is there
