I was going through an old hard drive and found this sound file I never uploaded. If anybody likes listening to nerds from ten years ago talk about fanfiction with little ponies in it here's one I recorded with Hoopy Mcgee and Mrpockets at our heights of fanfiction. (Warning there is a little vulgarity. I was just out of the army when I recorded this I think. lol)

Thanks, man. I'll try not to disapoint you guys more than I already have, lol. I haven't been completely not writing though. One of my co-writers has stubbornly pestered me these several long years and I've been helping him edit his weird DnD themed pony isekai featuring Merlos as a character.

Ohhh, what didja think of them? I'm not going to lie I mostly chose them as a cross-over option because horse is in the name Abhorsen, and I'm just that cringy, but I still enjoyed the books immensely myself.

I'm still going through the first book. Only got it pretty recently, it was surprisingly hard to get it.
But so far it's good. Like to see a take on Necromancy outside of the theme of dark arts, like we so much see it in DnD style games.
Just surprise that Sabriel's school years were just pass over. I was expecting from your story there would be a bigger emphasis of her upbringing in charter magic a bit like Harry Potter, but oh well. I don't regret it, it's still a good read.

Heh, yeah. Who knows, maybe if Garth had put an emphasis on it his stories could have been huge as they came out before Harry Potter? o.o But yeah, I expanded on the school stuff because it was so absent from the books and I also try not to shy away from writing young characters in my adventure stories. Writing kids is tough to do well I think and a good challenge an author shouldn't shy away from. ^^

Dear merlos your work is part of a cornerstone in my memories, through life i passed through issues and I got shit in my past that i make efforts to try to forget, but my enjoyment of your work is of the things that prevail in my mind through those i-rather-forget times
Revisiting your work is kinda weird and cool cuz the landscape of the human tag has changed waaay too much compared to the past helped by things like the Anon tag and EqG not dying

Everyone agrees the first EqG is low-key corny but they redesigned them all and from rainbow rocks forward things got more consistently good and Sunset Shimmer became the protagonist of the spin off and they changed the personalities of the core cast a little to differentiate them from their pony selves like human fluttershy being into heavy metal there's also interdimensional fuckery
One that leaves a positive impression of EqG is forgotten friendship
Because EqG got more good old human tag trends kinda became a rare breed, the EqG canon legitimately satisfied many as base for fanfiction and it eated up old fanfic settings somewhat
The Anon tag got popular because it beats having a named protagonist Anon of course is short of anonymous, interestingly enough Anon protagonist developed it's own culture, all because named human protagonist stories got the stigma of being majority low quality terrible cringe, Anon is both common in MLP and EqG stories should there be the need for a self insert protagonist/character
As for the main pony show last seasons are controversial but have cherry pick worthy episodes.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of buzz around Spinel. Consensus generally seems to be that the movie was really good. I dunno if I'd have enough context to really enjoy the movie on its own tho. Steven Universe seems to be a really "deep lore" kinda show.

Yah, probably. It's hard for me to say since I've watched all of it.I can't say it's a good show in the least but it held my attention. Surface/design wise it's good, at least. I'd say the best theme the show has to offer is the one that they do touch on more than any other kid's show, and that's having a life span longer than a humans. It's pretty neat seeing the gems think about how short human lives are.
