    Better late then ever never

Well, Chapter 7 is tidied up now... 4 months behind schedule?
Chapter 8 isn't going to be an edit like the other chapters, but rather a whole new curveball. It's still going to end up in the same strike zone tough. I just found that the... original idea of knocking Tempest out with a grenade launcher was a bit anti-climatic.

“I thought you died alone... like 4 months ago”

Yes, it’s been a while. But I have yet to forget about this... project, at least on the physical level.

For the past dozen-ish weeks, I’ve been playing through Bad Company’s campaign again, for legitimate research reasons.

    “Oh look, more words!”

    Update-

For six months, I have been slowing modifying the story–from revamping dialogue, to re-writing events and their details.

    Oh!

NGL, I just realized I can utilize unpublishing certain chapters while working on "editing" them.
My mind is ever so slightly expanded. Could be a hemorrhage though.

Might as well forget what happens in chapter 7-10ish too, they're kinda gonna swerve in a different direction.

    Be Advised...

Just a heads up, I’m about to nuter the hell out of this thing. Grinding out the muck in the first 3 chapters, condemning them into 1 by the end of it.

One single post on /mlp/ did a lot of “renovation” work for the story. Not directly of course, but it’s been another domino effect.

Yes, it’s been a while. But I have yet to forget about this... project, at least on the physical level.

For the past dozen-ish weeks, I’ve been playing through Bad Company’s campaign again, for legitimate research reasons.

I’ve discovered that you have a reasonable chance of getting past all the tanks on the golf course leading up to the President’s mansion via the golf cart on the mission “Par for the Course” if you gain enough speed rolling down the fairway on the 4th or 5th hole. On easy so far...

More importantly, I’ve been cataloging a bunch of idle dialogue from the first game that I have not been able to find elsewhere online. Seriously. It’s undocumented as far as the Battlefield wiki is concerned. I’m thinking about contacting a few mods on the site to see if they remember other sources, but that might take a fat second. I guess this is kinda the price to pay for locking a game to the Xbox 360 only.

Now, I can totally see someone thinking that recording all this “funny meme dialogue” Isn’t important to writing a story.

And oh my God—that individual is wrong. Through their idle chitchats, you learn a lot about these guys when they talk about their complaints and tell their short stories. For example, you learn that Sweetwater is an Atheist... and thinks that Chevy Malibu’s deserve no love. Haggard can be quoted in admitting that he likes Michael Jackson, which played a huge role in the decision to either leave a CD compilation of The Beach Boys or MJ’s studio album “Bad” in the Vodnik. I like Radio Surf, so I choose the first choice in the end—but the point is, that minor dialogue can have a lot of influence on decisions in the story.

Getting as much info about these guys is really important to me as I write them; not only as characters, but in thinking about all the taint-buckets worth of shitty, ludicrous ideas that they get thrown into. And I hope you find it as important as I do, because I have no idea how you’re going to get through this whack upload schedule without it.

But for those of you that are still here: that’s pretty cash money of you.

Long story short: I’m gettin’ it done... slowly. It’ll be out before Bad Company 3 at least.

Also thinking about just straight up drawing the cover art. I can’t stand that edgy photoshop thing. And actually, I’ve already started. But I’ll need to commission someone to color it. Thankfully, I just happen to have the right guy in mind.
