Twilight floated a second fritter up to her mouth when she realized the first was gone. “What is in these things?” “Mostly love. Love ‘n about three sticks of butter.”

Princess Celestia and Smart Cookie have watched Equestria rise. They share a dream that’s entwined their hearts for two thousand years, and a love that’s given them the strength to see it realized. Now they face the ultimate test of that love.

Blast from the Past: Now 100% Less Likely to Get Me In Trouble

Hey, some of you guys remember that thing I did a long time ago, where I wrote up 50 questions about headcanon and suggested people answer them on their blogs, and then, like, everyone on the site wanted to do it, and then the site mods sent me nice but stern messages suggesting I cut that shit out because it was spamming people's feeds?

    Full Circle

Wanderer D posted a touching retrospective of his time in fandom, and that made me remember the very first I ever heard of the show.

(Potential implied spoilers but maybe not? below.)

Sun and Hearth Post-Update Blog: Chapter 17 - Honor and Duty · 5:50am Sep 17th, 2019

Post-update blog for Sun and Hearth Chapter 17 - Honor and Duty.

If you don’t remember how this works, spoilers in the form of author notes, ending credit song, and world building below the cut (but no world building tonight. Sorry)

Ending Credits:

Author’s notes:

Hearth’s Warming pageants are among Cookie’s favorite things about Hearth’s Warming, especially ones put on by foals.

So, I started Sun and Hearth a long, long time ago. Like, five years. I wrote the first three chapters and some other scenes, then set it aside. But one of those scenes was the founder’s dinner in Chapter Six, and I really really liked that and it kept drawing me back.

After my frustrations in December 2017, I had this chapter done, and the scene between Cookie and Twilight acted much the same way. Along with two other scenes coming up, it’s largely responsible for me finishing this thing.

GhostOfHeraclitus called my Twilight in Sun and Hearth unambiguiously heroic, and that’s intentional. While what we see of Celestia in canon (especially as of season 6) could hide a lot of cracks, we know Twilight, and I wanted her to be the Twilight we know from the show. There’s a reason she’s the Princess of Friendship, rather than Celestia.

World Building:

I’m gonna skip this part. I think I have stuff to say next chapter, but as we get toward the end worldbuilding becomes less of a thing, especially in chapters like this that are set in the present.

Questions to Answer:
Can you use "how's it hangin'?" in a formal note?
Canterlot Manual of Style, Equestrian Ponological Entity, or Magical Language Association?
