Greetings my fellow bronies from around the world. Here we are for the tenth segment of Need an Idea!
So yeah. Been awhile since I've done this, huh? Well, I figured I might as well do one now since I've been in the mood to give out tons of ideas to those who need it for awhile now. For those of you who don't know what this is, basically this is where you can request an idea to write that I might have for you and you have my permission to just go ahead and write it. It's mainly to help those who want to write something but cannot come up with a good idea so I try to help out.
Here's how to go about it.
First tell me what genre or genres you want to have. They can be anything really, even the stuff I don't normally love I still get ideas for.
Second, tell me if you want any specific characters you want to work with. If you don't have a preference, just say so and I'll come with the best characters I think are for the idea.
Third, what rating do you want it to be? E, T, or M?
Fourth, do you want something one shot? Something short? Or something that can be used as an epic long story.
And finally, any specific details you want to have for this idea. A specific romance, a direction it needs to take, a character death, villains winning, etc.
Just post it on the comments section and I'll get straight to work. All of my short responses will be responds on this blog all long ones will be sent via PM.
Please note that I might not get to your answers ASAP as today, while I write this blog entry. I will answer the questions as best as I can when I find the time.
A rated-E comedy about Celestia deciding one day to give up cake, and the ensuing chaos that takes place when everypony thinks she's a changeling because of that.

With that one, I would have it as Celestia offers to look after Flurry Heart for Cadence and Shining Armor for one night. It starts off well, with Celestia playing with her, giving her an impressive magic show, and feeding her (with some difficulty). However, Celestia gets distracted for a few minutes which makes Flurry Heart get curious and wander around. When she turns around, Celestia finds out that Flurry Heart is missing and goes on a full on search with her guards for the missing toddler, who is always hiding in plain sight. Celestia goes into panic mode fearing everything from her being kidnapped to thrown into a dark dimension of horror. Celestia decides its too dark out and summons the sun in what's suppose to be night time to find the baby, but she still can't find her. It ends when Blueblood, whose beauty sleep was interrupted by Flurry barfing on his face, giving her to Celestia who is relieved. After everything goes back to normal she happily gives Flurry Heart back to her parents and kisses her goodbye. Luna then asks Celestia why her sun was up in the middle of her night and Celestia just gives a funny excuse

How AU do you want it to be?
AU where Pear Butter survives and guides her children from Season 1 onwards. A Slice of Life story would make sense. If possible, on ongoing series would be cool. I think the rating doesn't need to be M, so E-T. As far as details, perhaps Pear butter intervenes in episodes such as One Bad Apple, Applebuck Season, Super cider Squeezy 3000, and other Apple-centric episodes.

That's a long one. That would have to have her be involved in any episode that can be connected to her including AJ and AB themed ones. I would have to go through every episode to decide what role she would play. I think the idea is good and I'd be happy to help out in what would change episode wise with her alive if you want and you go with the idea.
For personal stories that can be used I have a few suggestions
1. Her seeking to reunite with her father and her children's Grandfather
2. Possibly falling in love with another pony, putting a strain between her and her children who might have positive or negative reactions to this
3. Having to deal with the fact her daughter gets up in adventures that risks her life and she fears losing her like she did with her husband.

A Teen rated story I have never had the time nor the skill to tackle was that of an unexpected and unlikely male Alicorn-LET ME FINISH!!!
His name is Barnstormer, or Barnie as he is called. A 15 year old country Pegasus who lives out in a dairy community in the bread basket between Equestria and Bovinia. There aren’t too many Pegasus out there so his family is not so much responsible for making weather, but rangling it.
A bad storm hits. It’s beyond there ability to stop and despite the damage and danger it will cause they need to back down lest they get killed in in the process.
Barnie doesn’t see it that way. His neighborhood is smack dab in the wake of that beast.
He goes out and tries to right the storm, and amazingly does! But not without realizing his supposed ‘destiny,’. Sprouting a horn in between his thick skull.
Now, you have a good hearted but impetuous hick, wielding the power of the weather, without any real knowhow to wield it.
On top of that, he is seen as a threat to Cloudsdale itself as he essentially will put them out of business.
If this doesn’t seem like something your up for, I would love advice on how to go about it.

I don't write the fics. I just help people get ideas for them. As for how you can go about it, its kinda hard to say. I doubt Cloudsdale will see him as a threat if he's going to become an Alicorn. I mean Twilight can make weather and she's not seen as a threat. Personally, I would just have him struggle to continue his way of life with the ability of becoming an alicorn

Ok so I have had this idea rolling around for a while. It'd be a T Slice of Life slightly crossover (magic the gathering if you are familiar). It takes the multiverse theory and adds beings with the ability to jump from one reality to another. After a clash between several of these beings leaves an egotistical rogue broken and maimed, he blindly jumps to equestria in an act of desperation. After landing somewhere in canterlot and being hospitalized word spreads about this strange creature until celestia catches wind of him and he bargains for asylum through service as a guard for the newest member of royalty while learning to live in a new society where violence is never seen as a solution. Meanwhile twilight has to learn to live with someone looming over her all the time and teach a dagger wielding ape how to solve problems without poking holes in everything.

In the senior High school year, a Button and his class take a field trip on a cruise where he hopes to confess to Sweetie Belle. However the cruise is taken over my terrorist who want their leader freed in 16 hours or they will blow up the ship. Button, the only one on the ship not captured has to stop them Diehard style
rated e slice of life with Twilight and the cmc. Twilight feels awful about the events in "Marks for Effort" where she accused the cmc for deliberately making Cozy fail and tried to make it up to them.

You see, I've recently re-read the "siege of the crystal empire" comic arc (an arc which leaves a taste of wasted opportunity, if you want my opinion) and this leads me to this idea, which I did not find any fanfic about it. Namely, the origin of the Umbrum race. I mean, we know they are made of shadows, they were imprisoned and very angry at the crystal ponies...and that's all. They were written as Evil for Evil's sake, and the fact that every single one of them was to be banished forever, even children, has some dark implications (pun not intended).
I'd like to read a story describing where they come from, their first contact and subsequent conflict with the crystal ponies, culminating with their defeat. Since, according to the comic, Love Magic is highly corrosive to them, I enjoy the idea that it was a first contact that turned horribly wrong and degenerated into full-fledged war, rather than cartoonish villainy.
Such story would be, of course, rated mature, and include Rabia and maybe Princess Amore. As for the length, I suppose it could be done with 3-4 chapters, but if you want to make it an epic length war story, the choice is yours.

Has there been a fic about Celestia and Luna's parents? Because I have the weirdest desire for a slice of life story about them and their lives before the two of them became alicorns. Specifically the time between when the Pillars disappeared and the sister's ascension.

For that one, have Twilight offer to have the CMC teach about explaining cutie marks to the non-pony students who don't fully understand it. During which, the girls learn from the other races what their equivalent of "maturity" comes from which is a learning experience for all.

Doctor Whooves and whoever companion you want go the beginnings of the Crystal Empire where they watch the nation start to form up. However, during a dig into the ice the Crystal Ponies find a large craft that the Doctor later finds out to be alien in origin. The ships computers are badly damaged and the skeleton of a strange pony is inside. With it is also a series of containers filled with darkness that are unknown in origin. However, a voice manages to establish a telepathic link with one of the workers. While the Doctor tries to repair the device, the voices haunt the worker for nights and cannot take it anymore so he releases the creatures just as The Doctor finally learns what is inside. The umbrum were an alien race that nearly destoried another alien race but were finally defeated with the remaining ones captured and were going to be sent to a nearby sun to burn, but the pilot lost control and died in the crash.
The umbrum, now freed, start to corrupt and destroy the Crystal Empire with the Doctor and his companion doing their best to stop them, but nothing seems to be working. The Doctor reasons they must have had something to keep the umbrum under control so they return to the ship and find a glowing alien like crystal that they learn was used to defeat the umbrum, but it was powered by something that cannot be translated. The Doctor tries to power it though various ways but they are soon captured by the umbrum and taken to its leader, Rabia. Rabia explains that she plans to use the Crystal Empire as a base to take over this world and plans to kill the Doctor, but the love his companion has for him (Friendship or otherwise) manages to make the crystal glow and force the umbrum back. Realizing that love and hope power it up, the Doctor urges the Crystal Ponies to focus their love for their new home, each other, and the hope of a bright nation into the crystal which powers it up and destories most of the umbrum, but the remaining ones, including Rabia, flee to one of their prisons in the ship which explodes from the energy as the prison is buried in the ice.
The day saved, the crystal is made into a heart to remind them of what it needs to be powered and the Doctor and his companion head back to the TARDIS.
