A user named NeuroSparkle (AKA bank pain) sent me this not long ago. This is their contribution to the Ponies At Dawn compilation album, inspired largely by my story Monsters. It's an ambient score of the Longest Night: Nightmare Moon's two-week-long reign in the fic, followed by Celestia finally putting an end to the horrors.
I'll be honest, I've never paid much attention to pony music (or fan works in general), but this was still pretty amazing to see. I think it's beautiful, how inspiration comes and goes around: Lauren Faust was inspired by g1 ponies to create FiM, which resulted in this website and inspired so many people to create their own stories. Now those stories are inspiring even more creativity in completely different genres.
I dunno. Maybe I'm just being overly sentimental.
Still. Check it out. Then go and create something of your own. Keep that cycle going.
At first it's 20% more glass shards eating into exposed flesh.
Next there are the screams of tearing the skin off. Creatures feasting on it.
Then, suddently when all hope is lost, Dawn comes. A Purging Light.
Ends with a light rain in the park.
I like this song.
