    Apologies for lack of Updates

As many may have become aware, aside from the latest chapter to I'm Peni Parker. What the FUCK? I haven't updated any of my fics since last week, despite saying in my latest update for Peni that i intended to return to posting fic updates.

We're back... but it's likely slow going.

So, in answer to the MANY people who keep asking when i'm going to update any of my fics despite my having a blog that explains WHY they've ALL been left unupdated over the last 3-4 months, my library is open again, so i should be able to finally get back to writing.

That was annoying and maybe worrying · 4:06am Mar 24th, 2017

Just got a message on my phone that twitter thought my account my have been comprimised, so had to change my password. kinda worries me because i'm not sure how that would've happened in the first place, be it from my phone or computer.

It makes me worry because, about a week back, i accidentally opened something via internet explorer. last time i did that and our protection went up, it found several dangerous programs that would've allowed others to see what was on our computer. the protection took care of it, but, that was after i'd opened SEVERAL links via internet explorer by accident, which makes me worry that, last week when i opened just the one, i let something into our computer, but can't tell because our protection hasn't gone back up in the last couple times i've booted up the computer. it likes being random when it will stay up.

Anyway, i'm worried because, if something has gotten in and that's why my twitter account became compromised, it means i may have only had to risk giving away my email password due to having to open my emails via the computer in order to go through with several things.

So, if weird shit starts happening on my account or it just vanishes altogether, you'll know why. I've no guarantee that i let something bad into our computer (after all, the moment the internet explorer window came up i closed it, not giving it time to start loading whatever the link went to), i just want to give forewarning in case shit does go down.

I could just be over reacting due to the idea of someone getting any of my info scares the living shit out of me and tends to make me WAY jumpy, but i thought i'd just let you all know in case.

Also, as i was writing this at 2:34pm, i had the site suddenly give a Could not follow through with Request box that suddenly popped up on the screen whilst i was still typing, right the hell out of nowhere.

Not sure if i should worry about that too, but i think i'll stop for now and TRY to get back to writing the latest chapter of the fic i'll tag bellow. I say try because, the scenes i'm righting are pretty heavy and, in my current worried state, not too sure i can get back into the mode. If that happens, i'll try getting it out sunday... provided things aren't screwed over and i lose my accounts altogether

You still use Internet Explorer? Firefox and Chrome are little more trustworthy than that. I.E is outdated and dead. Maybe one of the links had the problem, but I wouldn't trust Internet explorer whatsoever.

4469854 i don't but the gif I double clicked on opened a link in it despite my not wanting to use ie. For some reason gif images when double clicked automatically open ie on our computer even though we use firefox and chrome when using the net

4469854 unless the internet app on my phone counts as internet explorer but i don't think it does

Few weeks ago someone changed my PSN password, tried to reset my password while on my email from Russia and tried to log into my email from singapore. All these people that thirsty for my awesome name, XzavesLikesXbox O_o

4469904 that makes it sound like you're making light of something really serious.

I know you're likely not but...

I uphold Chaos Phantasm's state. I.E. is notorious for being unsafe and, well, bad in general and should never be used outside of downloading another browser. I also recommended to not use Microsoft's firewall and Defender since they are flawed and known to cause more trouble than help.

I advised you to make sure your anti-virus is up to date and also suggest you to use an anti-malware program like Malwarebytes for added protection if you don't have one.

You can disable internet explorer and I'd suggest you do that asap. Used to have problems with it as well and as i didn't use IE and it was horribly outdated... ya virus city.

4469914 i don't make a habit of using ie. In fact aside from when down at my local library where they've told me several times that there protection is up to date i never use ie. However the gifs on my computer even though downloaded via either chrome or Firefox if double clicked always open a window in ie.

As for protection we use Kaspersky which while works great when up tends to think we broke our contract with it by using a 1 computer only usage on more than 1 computer so is random when it will go up upon booting up the computer or when it refuses to wirk for reasons stated prior.

I just pray to god i got lucky and nothing got on our computer but unless thw protection stays up at least once and doesn't detect anything will i be able to rest 100% easy

4469931 i may have literally been worrying over nothing as my mum just told me she heard on the radio today that everyone's been having problems with Twitter so I could just be worrying over nothing.

But still if you brace yourself for the worst you tend to be able to handle it better when it happens

4469907 I was just mad when it happened to my PSN but got it sorted quickly, I never save my details if I buy stuff online so they couldn't spend my money.
I did panic a bit when I got a text telling me they stopped a suspicious sign-in from overseas :twilightoops:
I reset my password and set up two-step verification on all my things I need to sign-in to.

Bit of a scare but now I'm so much more secure.
Not scared about it anymore, just a bit mad Putin hacked my PSN

Kinda making light of it only after changing and locking everything down

Oh, yeah had this kind problem onces with a program's link opening IE instead of my default browser. Go into your Configuration panel > Default programs > Define default settings for access of programs and the computer > since you use two different browser tick personalise > scroll it down and tick off the box "Activate access to program" at the side of the IE option. It should stop object opening in IE.

I'm not familiar with Kaspersky. I only ever used Avast alongside with Malwarebytes and recently Spybot Anti-Beacon to stop those telemetry programs sending my data to Microsoft and anybody else.

Good day,

I would like impart some advice for suffering the internet to help keep everyone safer.

-First make a second user account that does not have administrator permissions on your computer. Only use the admin account when you really need to. Using this system should protect from many threats that try to install software.

-Keep your web browser up to date.

-NEVER allow your browser to save your passwords and don't use the same password over and over

-make sure any files that you download are the files you expect. So if you download a movie and get an .exe and not a video format you know of, do not open it.

I hope this helps.

-Inukshuk

Yeowch ... that sucks. I mean, you're probably safe, but it's still scary.
