Did two things this past weekend...

First, I ran 10k for the first time in two months after laying off that long to let my ankle bursitis subside, trying to allow the area to generally heal up. It appears it worked. To my delight, there was no ankle pain after and I hadn’t even lost much stamina thanks to hitting an elliptical machine twice a week for an hour instead of jogging. My upper legs are another matter, though. They’re

C&C chapter 40 entering prereads tonight + teaser

Much as I didn’t want to, I made the decision to break it up since the full length of the War Council meeting had exceeded 20,000 words and will probably approach 25k for the now-two chapters before all is said and done. The breakpoint itself will be between learning about the general war situation both Aricia and the Griffon Kingdom face, and then discussing what in all the Crows they’re going

Midnight Rising/C&C update: April showers may bring May flowers...

But of more interest is the emergence of 17-year cicadas in my area. Big, ugly, red-eyed insects that are the size of your thumb but basically harmless, as long as you can get past all the shed skins they leave behind on leaves and the everpresent and disconcertly loud background sound they produce as a mating call. Fortunately, the outbreak in my area seems pretty limited. There's a few around,

Midnight Rising update; Feathered Hearts C&C teaser...

Hey, folks. Here’s my weekly writing update. I’m tagging this as C&C since that’s what the teaser below is about, but the blog is about both it and Unleash the Magic - Midnight Rising.

Prereader verdict on new Midnight Rising chapter is in...

And unfortunately, that verdict is unanimous:

Complaints were: too meta, hard to follow, does nothing to advance the plot, and potentially makes things worse while trying to fix them.

Rise of Firefly reviewed!!! · 4:52pm Oct 3rd, 2016

Rated "Must Read" by the Pleasant Commentators and Review Group, receiving an 8/10 grade:

https://www.fimfiction.net/group/201936/the-pleasant-commentator-and-review-group/thread/280468/oh-hey-im-still-writing-reviews-before-the-storm-the-rise-of-firefly-must-read

I offer thanks to Savoured Thoughts for a very fair and favorable review and for deciding to read my anthro romance novel out on Amazon as well! It's my hope that the review will scare up some new interest in the story. Getting readers for this has been a slow and frustrating process to say the least. If folks who think this book-worthy would be willing to plug it, I would be appreciative. Some of you have suggested I turn this into an actual book, and I'd love to, but it's hard to justify the expense for a small readership. So I tell you what: I'll commit to turning this into a book or series of them if and when it cracks 300 likes.

As for when the next chapter arrives, probably not until November. I have two chapters and some edits promised to Raven Regios on Call of Duty: Equestrian Warfare first, and a bonus chapter to Unleash the Magic after that. I also really want to get one or both of Five Star Service and The Lawyer and The Unicorn done by year's end. Part of my issue is that I've had too many stories open at once and it's hard to keep updating them all. Finishing a couple will hopefully solve that.

As I drink earl grey from my bejeweled goblet contemplating the meaning of Firefly and movies I've never heard of, it brings to mind Fallout Equestria! My god... so many dead horses. So many, many dead horses. Oy vey...

Congrats on the 8/10. Definitely well-earned!

Before the Storm: The Rise of Firefly deserves all the praise it receives. It's been on my Recommended list for quite awhile.

Whoops, looks like I missed the blog! Thanks for the open-arms-greeting! Just a heads up, I plan on writing a new review for Rise of Firefly when it progresses a little further (as in: whenever there are so many chapters it's been a long time since I wrote the last review). And as for reading you're anthro-romance novel... I'LL GET TO IT EVENTUALLY!!! My job has been giving me shit hours, so I have literally no money right now, and whenever I do get the money I have to spend it on toiletries -- and I've been trying to get a friend of my steampunk goggles since I missed his birthday party; and I also have to buy my own coffee. I can't go a single morning without drinking at least three cups. Even then, I'm hiring like, four artist to draw illustrations for a fanfic of mine. But I guarantee you, once I start rolling the dough I'll order the book (signed plz? :D). Right now I'm focusing on the books I can read: The ones I get from the library (I don't suppose you've heard of The Atomic Awakening perchance? It may or may not help your story, but it provides an interesting insight into the history and future of nuclear power). I decided to move from books for pure entertainment to the text. Turns out there are some worthwhile textbooks out there that entertain just the same as teaching (blah, I have to read the entire history of Coco-Cola for a Fallout: Equestria fic that isn't even about Coco-Cola:unsuresweetie:). Whenever I find something that might help you in your endeavours, I'll let you know.

So, yeah, I'll check up on the story from time to time, and when it reaches a certain amount of chapters, I'll give it an even better review! :rainbowdetermined2:

Whoops, looks like I missed the blog!

Forgot to answer this! So I guess we're even...

I look forward to see a new review after we're deeper into the story! Feel free to comment on chapters individually too; feedback is always welcome and I really don't get enough comments on them IMO. And you are more than welcome to get an autographed copy of my book! :raritystarry: Just let me know when you're ready for a copy and I'll order one for you.

Read at your own pace, and I look forward to hearing more from you!
