Lots of "Fun" · 11:00am Sep 10th, 2016
Ha ha. That's my only response to the telephone service in my province. They don't know this, but there are 3 things in life that anger me above than all else: stupidity, deception and incompetence. They managed to outdo my expectations and simultaneously get all three right in one minute.
I've been without WiFi for, what, three weeks? Why? Infrasture upgrade: a fancy, politically correct term for "Let's screw you over and see how much you squirm." It was supposed to last for 48 hours, yet got extended slightly. A combination of angled cuts, green vans, lies, toyi-toying and theft contributed to that. Forget racy political drama; just film a documentary on South Africa and you'll outdo even the best directors. I wouldn't be so angry were it not for the fact that the whole mess wasn't an accident.
Here it comes.
As a side note (there it is), the new chapter that I was working on got a whole lot more morbid halfway through, mostly because my anger began to intensify roundabout the same time. I don't stop writing even when I'm furious - my style just changes. So, if you're wondering where all the jokes went there's your answer. They retreated into my subconscious, hoping that the rest of my mind did not attempt to make an end of them in its rabid fury. I woke up the next morning, read over what was in front of me and immediately thought "Who wrote this?" Not because it was better: it was still awful, but awful in a different way from the rest of the chapters. I decided to leave it as it was, because it actually made sense in light of what was happening. Jokes would have been very unfunny right then.
Also, don't expect to see me online anytime soon. The problem's still there, but I'm temporarily elsewhere.
