We're back... but it's likely slow going.

So, in answer to the MANY people who keep asking when i'm going to update any of my fics despite my having a blog that explains WHY they've ALL been left unupdated over the last 3-4 months, my library is open again, so i should be able to finally get back to writing.

disney cartoons that contiue from a disney movie · 5:17am Jul 16th, 2016

okay, seeing as i wasn't able to use the computer yesterday, i went and decided to watch some Disney movies. one i chose to watch is The Emperor's New Groove. However, it was whilst watching it that something was revealed to me that made and still makes my brain scream at how stupid something related to this movie was.

some of you may remember that certain Disney movies ended up having shows based around them, some being set even before the movie itself, or sometimes during. such examples include The Little Mermaid, Timon and Pumba, Aladdin, The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Lilo & Stitch and Tarzan, just to name a few.

some work, some don't. the ones i just listed? They work pretty well, as far as i can tell and remember (The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command for years).

But then you've disney shows that follow a movie that do. not. work, such as 101 Dalmatians the series. In truth, i've only really one big gripe with it and that's the fact that Cruella is so different from her original self and clearly got away with having tried to turn all the puppies to coats, despite failing and doesn't seem to care about the idea anymore.

however, that's a minor dislike compared to The Lion Guard, though i've already said in past blogs why that show's horrid, so i won't bother today.

No. getting back to what i was saying before, whilst watching The Emperor's New Groove i realized it's follow up show, The Emperor's New School (warning, swearing ahead) MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKING SENSE! My reasonings are so many. for starters, Easma, the villain of the movie. at the end of the movie, she's stuck as a cat and i highly doubt cronk helped her change back to normal, otherwise she'd have already been changed back. yet, for whatever reason, in The Emperor's New School she has managed to make herself the principal of the school.

Now, here's the thing. the show's premise is that Kuzco has to go back to school and pass in order to become Emperor again. Why? Nobody knows! They never really explain it. We're just expected to nod our heads and not question it. Now, if this is the case, who is running the kingdom whilst Kuzco is in school and unable to himself? If logic serves me right, Easma should be, but instead she's being the principal?

Now, that's a biggy right there, but the one that grabbed my attention is that, the day after Kuzco is turned into a lama is his 18th birthday.

:facehoof:

Okay, i know there are some kinds of school that you go to at the age of 18. But, here's the thing. every single student in the school aside from Kuzco and one other that i'll get to in a bit, all seem like teenagers, below 18, some maybe not even 15. So, why is a 18 year old guy allowed to take classes and hint of girls so damn young?

and another example is the other student i talked about. Who? Cronk! he's suggested to be somewhere in his mid to late 20s... and he's also in school with this preteens and young teens? Never mind who wrong it is that an 18 year old is with such young kids, why the hell is an over 20 year old?

it's beyond illogical and stupid. the series makes no bloody sense and trying to make sense of it will just give you a headache.

okay, rant over, angry feelings vented. feeling better.

Bye now

It may make no sense but very few Disney tie-in series did. Personally, I enjoyed it because I got to see more of my favorite Disney characters having fun and going on adventures while still being themselves. Even the voices sounded the same or got the original cast member to do it. Just enjoy it for what it is: wholesome family fun.

Not the only time Disney tried the 'movie characters go to high school' route on us. The Hercules cartoon did something similar, with Herc going to high school during his training with Phil...while constantly facing off with Hades...who was supposed to have thought him dead as a baby... At least the Meg cameo ep ended with them both getting dunked in the Lethe(river of forgetfulness), but I dunno if it ended with the sufficient out to bury that plot hole.

I agree.

Also, were you using Netflix to watch them?

I recommend watching a movie like Daddy Day Care next time.

4095175 no. i watched it on DVD

I think the TV show is a prequel

p.s . Did you see the second movie ?

4095198 no, but if it were a prequel, why would Easma hate Kuzco so much? Her reason for hating him in the first movie is because he just fired her without warning or giving a reason.

4095203 She didn't like him much BEFORE either, though. She wanted to rule.

But yeah, I see what you mean.

This happens with live action series as well... why was a 27 year old man playing the role of a 14 year old in Smallville? If the first four (five?) seasons took place during senior year and the actor that played Jimmy Olsen wasn't the same actor who stole the super-boy powers a few seasons earlier pretending to be someone else it wouldn't have been as confusing. I don't know, and then there was the supposed cougar relationship the Clark Kent actor's other character was having with Judge Amy and I was just weirded out becasue this man supposedly looks 14... it's head explodingly stupid. I honestly thought they didn't have the rights to superman and were just dancing around the mythology as closely as they could without it being superman.
