    Not quite done with writing

Now that my desire to play Fallout: New Vegas has been thoroughly satiated for the time being with the completion of my second playthrough, I suppose I actually have time to write now, though unfortunately I do still have college to worry about. With that, I have no guarantee that I'll write on a regular or even semi-regular basis. Motivation (or rather, the lack thereof) is still a big

So I'm not dead after all. What's happened since my last update? Several things, actually:

1) First and foremost, Lightningpone and Rainpone are awesome and don't get enough love, so I wrote a story about them. I wanted to sort of redeem myself for the first stories I wrote about them; those two stories were interesting to write, but afterwards I thought to myself that they deserved to be featured in a proper story, no gimmicks or anything, just good ol' "traditional" narrative. Therefore, I set out to write this behemoth beginning last September, and I actually had it pretty much done by January. I wanted to publish it in February (on my birthday, in fact), but I first decided to commission some cover art from the lovely pridark. Unfortunately, that took much longer than I expected and was not done until literally yesterday, and I was too stubborn to publish my story without the cover art I paid for. At least my story is finally out now, and I'm happy with the end result. It was a labor of love, and I'd go so far as to say that it's the best thing I've ever written thus far. I'm not disappointed or anything that it's received so little attention.

2) I also finally finished college last March, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. I'm beyond glad that's over, since I was already fed up with it all since last year. What's next for me? Well…

3) Last month, I made the decision to enlist in the United States Army. I have chosen 68W (Health Care Specialist) as my MOS (boy, is my mom upset about that), and I will be shipping out to Fort Sill on July 18 for Basic Combat Training. Although I was considering the Army since last September or so, I'll admit that I'm still kind of surprised that I'm really going through with this. For the longest time, I did not expect that I would be going for the military, but it looks like that that's what will happen.

That covers the big things that have happened in my life since my last update. What happens now? Well, now that I'm out of college and am currently unemployed, I've had a lot of free time to spend. A lot of it is spent just being lazy, I admit, but some of it is spent training myself for the Army. As for writing… I haven't really written anything substantial since January, but maybe I'll get something out before I ship. It'll probably be an update to My Other Half, Gone Forever, but it could also just be a brand-new (short) one-shot or something; it really depends on my mood. In any case, I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

I'm not a writer.

I may be able to string together some horsewords and call them a story, and maybe it'll even be enjoyable to read, but I personally don't get that much enjoyment out of writing. If I did, I would be writing a lot more, you know? It doesn't help that my interest in the show and fandom has significantly waned, though I'm not quite ready to call it quits just yet. After all, the ride never ends, right?

Regardless, I still have some time left. We'll see what happens.

tl;dr: new story, graduated from college, enlisted in the US Army, may or may not write something in the next couple of months
