BABSCon 2016 · 2:27pm Feb 29th, 2016
Unless my plans change, I'll be going to BABSCon 2016. This is the Bay Area Brony Spectacular 2016, and it's being held over at the Hyatt Regency SFO in Burlingame. Not sure if I'm going to commute to the con (I live in Oakland, so this is just barely feasible) or go to a hotel or motel in Burlingame for the Con. Getting a room at the Hyatt Regency would be $125/night for a double or king. One problem I have is that I don't have a credit or debit card -- I have money, but no plastic -- so I may not be able get get a room in Burlingame unless someone comes with me.
My wife might -- it depends on her medical condition at the time. Her chronic pain is getting worse. Probably she won't be able to both do the con and work that weekend, so I'm probably going to be going to the con alone.
Is anyone interested in meeting me at the con, and/or possibly going in on me with a room? Sadly, I think most of my best friends on this site are geographically unavailable for BABSCon, but I can hope. And maybe make more friends.
Anyway, communications on this in comments, PM's or both are welcome.
Hmmm...is there anything in the Carslon/Rezidor brand of hotels nearby, specifically in the realm of Country Inn and Suites?
Anything, in that brand, really, but Country Inn and Suites will make things a bit simpler.
Either way...typically, you should be able to go ahead and get a room, cash or card. However, typically card is easier and slightly less...uh...money consuming...what usually happens is the incidentals charge, which is what is charges for any damage that might happen (essentially a security deposit) is tacked on; at my hotel, with a card, it is only $20...but if you pay cash...eh...it's...$200...as long as the room is not damaged in any way, it is refunded (usually...), but still, an extra $200 is kinda steep...of course, the Hyatt may be different, but...
Give your Mrs. my regards; my thoughts and prayers are with her. What is the nature of her pain?
Hope your wife feels better, or at least more comfortable soon. I'm a chronic pain sufferer and know how shit it is.
I wish your wife a speedy recovery and I wish you a good time at the con

Something neurological and probably involving her upper GI tract, because it most typically manifests as pain caused immediately after eating, by the act of swallowing and initial digestion. Doctors can't figure out exactly what it is, which is why all we can do is treat the symptoms.

Well, there's this place.
3785506 Oh, glah...woof. Definite prayers, man.
3785512 Nah, dat's a Hampton.
Did some research while I was at work today; you're better off staying at the Hyatt. Obviously closer and an ass-ton cheaper, even if I gave you my emplyee discount.
Sorry...
I hope you and your wife get to attend the con and have some fun. And may she recover from her illness, and soon.
