Equestria Girls world NOT our world - found the tweet by Ishi Rudell · 1:13pm Feb 4th, 2016
If you read Fallout: Equestria Girls, you already know that I have chosen not to make the world from Equestria Girls like our world. There were several reasons behind it:
1) Timeline. To make the plot workable, I had to shorten the span between the apocalypse and the events of the story from 200 or so years to seven years and three months approximately (ninety moons, if one moon is approximately 29.5 days). I also remade the human world's calendar - the apocalypse happened in what is considered year 2094 in the story, and current year is 2101. If you add the Last War that culminated in the apocalypse, it took another thirty moons and happened shortly after Friendship Games (although now it's Equestria Girls 4, or whatever they'll call it.)
2) Unwillingness to simply copy-paste Fallout lore. Too unoriginal; I considered it better (albeit harder) to remake the human world which is similar to ours and Fallout's, but is neither. That's why we have United Federation of Equestria and TransOceanic Defense Coalition instead of USA and China.
Well, it appears that my decision to do so was not totally wrong after all. Look at this tweet by Ishi Rudell.
Lucky me.
