No updates for more than a year, oh my...

    Erm... I live?

    *sees glares*

    OK, I am sorry. Really.

    So here is the stuff:

    1) I have found to my displeasure that I need to go back to drawing board for the Western Wastelands arc in the "Fallout: Equestria Girls" story. I can churn out a chapter or two without doing that, and then I will have to rethink a number of things.

Going on a vacation for 2 weeks

Internet reception is not likely to be good, so I am basically offline; if I do happen to come around, it's not for long.

Sorry everyone, was not able to update anything in time.

I haven't seen "Forgotten Friendship" in full yet, but from what bits I saw on YouTube, my own headcanon got screwed (namely, that Sunset never got back to Equestria and never saw Princess Twilight and Princess Celestia until the events of Fallout: Equestria Girls).

Expect some retcon. There won't be much, but Chapter 31 at least will have to be re-written a bit.

Also, not sure I will use Memory Stone as a plot device or Wallflower Blush as one of plot-driving characters. Wallflower Blush gives me the vibe of another single-use low-level villain, like Juniper Montage.

On the other hand, I finally managed to see MLP: The Movie. I haven't watched it in full yet, but I can definitely say that I will use its characters in Fallout: Equestria Girls, and Klugetown will make an appearance as well. I will have to think on integrating them into the plot properly, and don't expect to see someone immediately, but I do think at least one movie character should make an appearance in a few chapters.

Currently, I am focused on writing Chapter 5 of "Love Dashed Into Life", that fic had been left unupdated for shamelessly long.

Oh, and if someone remembers me mentioning wanting to post a "Sci-Twi does a school shooting in Crystal Prep" in this blog post... I am sorry, but that's not gonna happen. One of the staff has informed me that this type of story will not be approved, so I can only post it somewhere off-site and not here. If you are still interested, PM me and I will share a Google Doc link once the story is complete (as I am told, this should not violate site rules).

Sunset went to Equestria previously in the Mirror Magic special, though I believe she only met up with Starlight Glimmer not Twilight or Celestia that time.

You don't need to retcon your story if you don't want to, I've noticed that many authors on this site pick and choose what they use from cannon sources.

Dude, I have written you more than once before: You can be forgiven if you make a story based on known canon in the source material, but gets contradicted by it later. One sure and n00b way to ruin your fic is attempting to keep it up 100% to the source's canon. Other things like Wallflower and the memory stone; and movie characters are exceptions, as they can be easily be integrated in it without the need of retcons. After all, writing a story, the first things you have to get in mind are the beginning and the end, the rest comes later

If I had to guess Kludgetown is going to be a cross between Paradise Falls and Goodneighbor.

Just use the 'alternate universe' subterfuge and you'll be fine without the need to change the past chapters.

If we had to update and change the stories after every episode to make them coincide with the official canon, then there would be no point in writing our stories.

This guy gets it. It's ok to add some things if that won't interfere with the show canon, like the Shadowbolts. But having to constantly make retcons to adapt with the current canon is a big no no. There are still some fics in earlier days where they may adapt new canon if it can fit the story, but no massive retcons

Indeed. I mean, look at the original Fallout Equestria, after season 1 the timeline takes a completely different turn from the official series and yet this doesn't makes the story less enjoyable.

True, thank you, but since she did not meet Twilight or Celestia, that visit was regarded by me as unimportant and I did not think that it would warrant any retcon.

Thank you for your opinions. Turned out I did not require any substantial changes, I only needed to change one line said by Sunset in Chapter 31 from her mentioning she wanted to apologize to Princess Celestia to mentioning that she misses Princess Celestia (given that she had been stuck in the human world after the apocalypse, I believe she would miss Celestia by that point and be hurt by Twilight's outburst that she does not care about Equestria). The change is not massive at all and I don't think it is damaging to the story.

EDIT: If there is some change in canon that is truly irreconcilable with my story, then of course there won't be a retcon.

Maybe, I will think more on this.

Oh, just one line? Well, it's rather minor, but I still think it's not worth retconing little things like that either. It's impractical, and they could lead to the aforementioned big problems as well
