I just had an epiphany, But let me backtrack a bit.
I only really started writing when I took a creative writing class in 10th grade, and most of it was just poetry and random thoughts that popped into my head at the time. My family and I moved to America, and I had lost a good bit of drive/inspiration when it came to literary works, aside from a few high school English class assignments.
I hadn't really written anything substantial, or at all, really, since then. Since high school. And for those of you who are prolific in your writing or do it for a living, you know how bad of a thing this is.
I'd never really been a fan of fanfiction, until a friend of mine introduced me to Past Sins. Granted, I was skeptical. But as I began to read, I could actually see the characters act the way the writer portrayed them. A few years later, I stumbled upon another fanfic, The Lost Element, and boy was that an emotional roller coaster for me! This was the ember that started it all.
Come around to Nightmare Nights 2015, I attended the panels hosted by Vivid Syntax, and his insight, as well as the suggested reading, fired me up to do what I'd only been considering for a while: write my own fanfic!
But lately, I've been a little down. I saw all these other writers, and so many good works, that I began to doubt I could ever hold a match to them, much less a candle. I Started to think that I should stop, that what I was doing was a waste of my time and everyone else's.
And then it hit me.
I'm not doing this to get recognition, even if it is a nice benefit. I'm not doing this to outshine or outdo the works of others. I'm not doing this because it's my job or to get paid by commission.
I'm doing this because I want to create, because I want to get better at writing, and because I want to tell the stories that come to my mind and out of my heart. And I want to share them with everyone, even if they're not well-liked or well-received.
My pseudonym is Rubahhitam, but you can call me Ru.
I'm here to tell stories.
Well, you just basically described me and many authors here in a nutshell with this blog!
Good to see you mate! Oh and uh, speaking of writing for fun, have you checked out my new story? That story came to me inn the most unexpected of times in the most unexpected of game and ideas
