What has transpired following the Emperor's departure · 6:50pm Jan 20th, 2016
Some of you have asked what's happened since the Emperor/Celestia first left the Imperium all those years ago. To avoid a major info dump, I'll provide a few answers to things that have happened that shouldn't be too spoiler-y (those, I'll save for the Info Dump).
The Astronomicon: It almost went out shortly after the Emperor left, but through some miracle (which is spoilers) it stayed alight long enough for the Mechanicus to find some of the Emperor's notes (and spend the better part of a millennium squabbling over whether or not they were heresy) and fix the beacon.
The Fall of Ghazghkull and Yarrik: Commissar Yarrik and the Black Templars managed to track down Warlord Ghazghkull Thraka some time after the Battle of Terra. On an unidentified ice world the two warriors clashed, and while Ghazghkull appeared victorious Yarrik surged forward and with a last bit of strength pulled the Ork into a deep fissure, never to be seen again.
Imperial records say Yarrik killed Ghazghkull and then died of his injuries, but Orks believe the two are still fighting it out in that crevasse, and will keep fighting until Gork and Mork decide they're bored of it. And are you really going to argue with an ork?
The Scouring of Baal: After being turned back once, Hive Fleet Leviathan threw its full might against the Blood Angels and their successors. The battle was one of the fiercest the Imperium ever faced (even worse than Behemoth's attack on Ultramar), with many heroes rising and falling in the face of the Tyranid threat (On the final day of the battle, Commander Dante struck down several major Tyranid nodes and the Swarmlord itself before succumbing to injuries. He is now a Dreadnought). The Blood Angels destroyed the Hive Fleet by smashing a moon filled with all sorts of doomsday weapons into Leviathan, fatally damaging the main command organisms of the fleet.
Though victorious, the Blood Angels would not be a full fighting force for some years after, and several of their successor chapters were destroyed outright. And with the arrival of Hive Fleet Cetus, the Imperium's Tyranid Troubles are not going away any time soon.
Cadia: With the defeat of Chaos at the Battle of Terra, Cadia has had the chance to be cleansed and rebuilt after suffering during the last war. Though Chaos raids have lessened, Cadia is even more heavily fortified than ever before.
That's about all I can say right now without spoiling anything. Hope it helps
So, its been a few thousand years since the Emperor left, which is what I was thinking, which sadly means Titus and the others are likely dead. Also, it could just be the similar name, but was the Titus in The God Empress of Ponyville the same from the Space Marine, the game?
3700424 Yes
3700426 Sweet
Does the Raven speak of the Blood Ravens?
Neat!
That is impressive!
>but through some miracle (which is spoilers)
It was Isha using her own godly powers to keep it lit as a "thank you" to the Emperor for showing her mercy. Probably makes no sense, I may be wrong, but that is my headcanon until otherwise stated.
"Sniff!" *Wipes tear away*
Falling to their deaths with their Powa Klawz around each others throats, angrily glaring into each others eyes. Just like they always dreamed.
Best
lovehate story.Much sadness about one of the best First Founding chapters and their successors, but I wish to know about one in particular.
What is the fate of the Glorious Lamenters? Are they still missing for reasons unknown or did they finally show up at Baal in a "Big Damn Hero" moment and bring aid to their brother chapters?
And if so, did they manage to survive the jaws of Death yet again, or did they go out in a blaze of glory as the self sacrificing noble bastards that they are and give that one epic last stand, with the Sanguinor backing them up, that bought their brothers the time they needed to end the threat of the Hive Fleet once and for all?
Please, I much know the fate of the best Sons of Sanguinius!
3701046 I have a fondness for the Lamenters myself. Having them go out in one last blaze of glory to buy the rest of the Blood Angels time to destroy Leviathan seems fitting.
I prefer the Ork version of the story. Seems more fitting for a legend.
Who said that Orks could not appreciate some fine storytelling ?
(I am a big fans of theses morons , even if I play Necrons myself)
...I wonder if Twilight is going to meet any of the funnier Necron Lord out there , since contrary to the weak mortals , they are obviously still errr.... "alive".
*goes back to hiding in lava , because it's sneaky , especially if it's purple lava*
Please say the Flesh Tearers survived Baal. The manliest sons of Sanguinius can't be gone.
