    Happy New Years

    2023 was way too long.

My goal this year is to find a new job. Try and write more than one new chapter of Feather Steel and to hopefully publish this new story of mine which popped into my head and won't leave. Already written 20,000 words. :twilightsheepish:

As for my other unfinished works, we'll see. :facehoof:

    The Curse is Broken

So, yeah, finally a new chapter is here.

What can I say other than time goes by fast and you never realize how much you lose until it's lost. Five years :fluttershysad:

The Difficulty of Continuing a Story

Why is it so difficult to do this sometimes? I feel like it's much, much easier to come up with a new story and write it out. But Celestia help you if you stop and want to continue later. :facehoof:

    A Rushed Job

I'm Back from TrotCon which was fun, though I feel they planned poorly for how large the venue was vs how many people were there (last time it was in a smaller hotel and felt cozy).

New Chapter for... CMC: Training is Magic · 5:30am Dec 7th, 2015

You can find it here: Chapter Six

It's currently sitting at seven views... something tells me that, by the end of this story, I'll maybe get one comment for the epilogue. :twilightoops:

I'll give it a read when I'm done writing. The story looks interesting.

3599215 Sweet! :pinkiegasp: But what you writin'? :rainbowhuh:

I've been concerned lately that my newer stories seem sort of generic in nature, when compared to my older stuff. I just kind of noticed this too... :ajsleepy:

3599216 More users means competing for attention. Besides that, a lot of the writers on this site have improved over time. That raises the bar a bit.

3599218 I improved... :fluttercry:

While I'm well aware of the increased competition, I think it's not as black and white as that. Looking at my new work and comparing it to my first few stories, I can generally tell that I'd be more excited to read my old stuff right off the bat. The ideas I had in them just sounds more alluring to me. :trollestia:

3599221 I know that feeling, but understand that it comes in phases. I'm pretty close to releasing a new story (in a couple weeks) that should easily top out most of what I have out right now. It's just a matter of taking the time and planning it out, really. The easy ideas have already been used, so it takes deep consideration in order to match it.

3599225 I feel confident enough to match any idea and top it... but finishing said idea is a whole other story. I have far too many un-finished works.

3599232 That's why I don't publish incompletes much anymore. It makes writing new ideas a chore.

3599235 It's what I did for CMC: Training is Magic. I only need to write a few chapters and it'll be finished.

3599240 It looks promising. It might well be one of those slow grow stories I've seen around. Hell, my first fic on this site only had forty likes in the first six months but has more than one hundred and sixty as of now. Yours is a good read, so I figure anyone that actually sees it will enjoy it.

3599254 Thank you. I appreciate comments like that a lot. I just wish I could find my niche. I almost feel like I had it but I moved on too quickly.

3599257 Genres go through phases. Your slice of life trend did well because that was what was popular at the time. Your writing is, if anything, better. Just keep in mind that the spark for that genre will return at some point.

3599260 I suppose I am better at Slice/ dialogue than the Adventuring genre.

3599262 Depends. That's just what I recognize your name for.

3599290 Huh. I didn't know I was recognizable. :pinkiegasp:

3599293 I've heard your name around at points.
