Because I need something to tear me away from the new iPhone 6 I got today (yessss precious), I've decided to post this as both a heads up for any readers interested in knowing what's going to be happening in the future as well as a public reminder for myself to stay on course with my writing. I honestly get distracted far too easily.
In terms of one-shots, I have two RariShimmer ideas I'm kicking around that I definitely know I'll write and post: a soulmate AU inspired by Monochromatic's Colors of the Soul, and a second piece I know I definitely want to write (and in terms of word count, it would be a pretty short little thing compared to the soulmate idea and Rule of Three), but I'm a little hesitant about it because it tackles a topic I'm not entirely comfortable writing about... which frankly, to me, makes it even better to write. Nothing helps you grow like pushing your boundaries, after all.
But first and foremost, before I commit to either of those one-shots I want to get up the next chapter of Now You Need Us. I got a page in before life decided to self-destruct around me, and now that the dust has settled some I want to get back into it. Now You Need Us is the first chapter story I've written in a long time, and I put a lot of care and thought into the plot and outline before I even started writing anything. While the overall tone and length changed during the actual writing process, it's still stayed true to the outline I made for it, and I honestly enjoy writing it. The plan is to get the new chapter up before the end of December.
So that's where writing stands at the moment for me: first the next chapter of Now You Need Us, then two RariShimmer one-shots posted after the chapter in no particular order.

Well damn. I guess I'll have to read a soulmate story after all. I've been avoiding them since even though it's a very interesting concept I just fundamentally loathe the idea of things like soulmates and love at first sight and all that. But if you're writing one, well, my hands are tied there, since it seems I like your writing more than I hate the idea of soulmates.
But above all I'm thrilled to hear there's going to be another chapter of Now You Need Us soon
