"Even In Other Worlds" Status Update · 8:36pm Sep 26th, 2015
So I'm working on Chapter 14 of Worlds right now ahead of a Chapter 5 rewrite for Apprentice, and then Chapter 9 of Starbound. Given my current plans, I think I'm shooting for 22 or 23 chapters total. And five of those are Act III. During Apprentice, I had a nice little 2.5 chapter Act III. Well, that gets doubled this time. Sort of. I think if you define Act III as the stage of the story where the climax starts coming together, then it's actually going to be a good SEVEN chapters long, plus an epilogue for Chapter 22/23.
Yeah, we're talking a long battle scene here. I think you don't need to think to hard to speculate on what that entails, given that it's a large city and there's an army of changelings within it.
Basically, this chapter and Chapter 15 are going to be the last two chapters of Act II. It was a much shorter Act II than I had originally anticipated, and at times it felt like it went too fast, but really... it kinda seems like it went at the pace it normally would have gone. Which I think is weird, given that there was a lot less build-up this time than there was last time (but then, I don't have 100k words dedicated to some adventures in the past this time).
Anyway, I'm 4.1k words into C14. And you know what? It's about damn time Nova and Twilight had a good date scene again. And for that matter, it's about damn time they had one that ended well.
