Do I have your attention now? 
When I completed my first fanfiction a little under a month ago, I received more than a few requests for a sequel. And I said no. I decided that the story had both reached an acceptable conclusion, and had also reached the limits of my ability. I'm sure you would rather be left with a decent story, than have to put up with a mediocre add-on.
However, in the time since then, I have been thinking. I've had a couple of ideas buzzing around in my head. Most are something of a departure from 'My Family and Other Equestrians', moving away from the HiE genre. However, I did come up with this possibility.
I am unwilling to continue writing about Blade Star's adventures, for the reasons I outlined above. However, the story did at times switch between the various family member during the interlude chapters. Each of these had their own miniature story lines and characters; in effect, they were a story within a story.
So why not continue them? What would you guys think of possibly three fics, expanding on the stories of the other members of Blade Star's family? I could do one for his father, set in Canterlot, one for his mother at Ponyville Elementary, and one for his sister living with Fluttershy (although that one may not be possible due to the implied romance in her final chapter). They would be shorter, of course, but they would still continue the story into Season 5. I could even write each one so they intertwine with each other. And of course, I'm sure Blade Star would also make a few appearances.
So there you have it; my idea. What do you say to potentially making the story into a series?
