Sword and Song part 1 posted · 12:31am Jul 11th, 2015

Stories have power.

Stories can entertain us, inform us, and excite us. They can move us to action, or make us stop and think. They can bring us to the heights of emotion, or send us to the depths of sorrow. Even a poor story has this power, though in such cases it rarely works as its author intended.

Even in the Fallen World, stories retain their power. Sometimes it seems that they're the only thing the Rulers haven't corrupted. Stories can bring hope, giving the strength to spite the evil that dominates the land. Or they can bring despair, showing the crushing impossibility of fighting the immortals.

Some stories can cut. To the bone.

And some, good or ill, need to be told.

So as the fire is warm and bright
And my voice is strong
Come gather round and listen to
This tale of Sword and Song

This has been long-promised, but only recently have I actually been able to put something together that I actually felt was worth publishing. I never managed to get any coverart that I liked for it, so I whipped up something of my own. I'll replace it when I find something better. This story will run about 15 chapters and around 75,000 words. I'll be releasing one part per month (about 2 chapters worth), and if that schedule gets messed up, I'll make sure to post something about it.

New Harmony Theory Chapter in 2 weeks.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy what I've written!
