When Twilight Sparkle went to bed, she had friends she loved and a life she enjoyed. But she awoke to hospital gowns and padded restraints. And the doctors, they keep telling her that she is sick and none of it was real. They’re lying, right?

    Looking For Editing Help

    Sorry for the bother,

I was looking for some editing help on my stories, including the next chapter of Asylum, and I was also looking for some feedback on the stories in general to help me nail down some pernicious issues I've been facing.

Please PM me if you're willing and able to help. And let me offer my thanks ahead of time, because I do appreciate it all!

    Sincerely,
    Derek (aka DoD)

I have a gift for you - the lost Asylumverse planning guide (from 2013!)

So, years ago I actually started writing out a guide of random but mostly useless information about Asylum and Broadhoof after I received permission from folks to write fan-fiction based on my fan-fiction. It was a humbling but invigorating experience. So in my exuberance, I decided that I should craft something that would help provide the reader a more coherent world for their shared narrative.

    Oops!

Okay, I let the Discord Server invite expire. It should be working now at this link. It shouldn't expire this time.

    Sorry!

PS: Just over 1000 words into the next Asylum chapter. Had to kinda restart it again to make any progress.

'I Wasn't Prepared For This' updated - and I helped! (and some Asylum info) · 11:04pm Jun 1st, 2015

One of my favorite stories - and one of the stories that actually got me involved in the fandom - has finally, after a two-year hiatus, updated!

So rejoice!

And after you are done slaughtering a fat bull in Zeus' honor, pay a moment to consider your lowly author, who has helped to edit this great gift and feels he deserves a little bit of your love for that grueling task.

... okay I mostly just corrected a few minor gaffes while getting drunk and yelling encouragement while August did all the real work, but dammit, I'm too selfish to pass up the opportunity for some self-promotion.

As for my own writing, I have some ideas for that - I've been chipping away at my side project, but I have an interesting idea for Asylum. Something involving a shit ton of writing in exchange for charity donations to my chosen charity. What do you guys think would work there? Or am I over reaching a bit? My goal would be something like, oh, 10k-20k words in a week with the aim of raising maybe $100 for charity. Sound doable?

Yeee! I'm getting psyched! Moar horse words! Yes I would consider donating for more words....

Now if only I could pull off a feat like that with another story.

Damn, this story was one of the few that got me to hover around this site more. Not the one that turned me from a mere lurker to a fimfic member, I hardly took reading fanfics seriously enough then to think making an account was needed since I felt it had no real value to making an account.

But damn, it was pretty nice. Likely though since it gave me vibes from other stories I was reading back on Deviantart like Ciroton's Sunset series way back when. And what is with that less than subtle background pony insert. I had a good chuckle/facepalm moment there, it was cute. xD

Glad to see this continue. I wasn't even aware it had updated if I didn't bother to check the front page yesterday. (then again, at least you had the mindset to toss another chance at spotting the fic!)

And to think you didn't have to drag him to an unknown basement in some undisclosed place and feed them just enough muscle relaxers while chained to a desk to get them to be able to write but not enough to try and escape before a new chapter was put out!

Hope we see more soon.

Didn't slaughter a fat bull, but would a Red Bull do?

So... Donate to see more Asylum posts?
Sounds like a plan
How does it work?

You were drunk while editing?
I should have known!

My goal would be something like, oh, 10k-20k words in a week with the aim of raising maybe $100 for charity.

I'd be on board with donating, but please don't do the "must write X words in a week" thing. Asylum has been such an immersive, beautifully written story so far; it would be a shame if its later chapters would be a rush job because you forced yourself to churn them out at such a crazy pace.

Dude, 10k+ a week is IC territory. That's a dangerous commitment. On a side note, coolio that you've helped a different Twilight body-swap story. I guess this one is plenty more idyllic than the suspenseful cuckoo nest I've enjoyed reading from your keyboard.

I am on board with donation.

Alright, let's see if I can do this...

Congrats, you uncultured swine!

DAMMIT!
Thanks for all your hard work
Keep up the good work
