Taking a bit of a breather... · 3:47am May 29th, 2015
I was thinking about it, and I'm spending a fair amount of time on fimfiction right now, and a decent amount of it is repeatedly checking forums and such. Given that I'm a bit behind on some other things, this is what I'm going to do.
Friday night (say 24-28 hours from now), I'm going to log out of this account on my main computer and tablet, and I'm going to try not to log back in until the following friday, so I basically won't be around much for a week. I get e-mails about my pms, so I'll still see them. I just probably won't respond for a good while.
Anyone I normally talk to that has my e-mail can always email me there. I'm not sure I'll respond to steam messages, but I'm bad at responding to them anyways.
I'm dismally far behind on the next chapter of Cubic Zirconia, (It's around the length of this blog post right now!) so I'm hoping this'll persuade me to get at least a little further into it and such, and as I said, I'll be back next week. I just mainly wanted to make sure people knew so they didn't just think I disappeared...
Oh, on a different note, while the difference may be hard to see, I redid my avatar a week or two ago. This is the current one:
It's totally redrawn from this one, though I used it as a guideline on another layer.
You'll mostly notice when you start comparing the two, but I like the look of the new one a lot better...

It's entirely possible that I'll be leaving an alt logged in and checking once or twice a day to see what's going on, too...
I probably should as well. I have lots of grading to do. Anyway, you'll be missed.
Log all the way out. Trust me, it's peaceful and you actually have time to get stuff done, and some left over. For me, it let me step back a bit and realize that even now that I'm back I don't have to reply to everything everyone says that I have thoughts about. Who knows how long this will last, but it's nice right now.
Honestly that's a pretty good idea. I might try that myself for a few days, if only to try and break my bad habit of obsessively checking for fic updates.

Thanks. And I will be back in a week, assuming I don't flake out and return sooner. But since I've posted this, everyone will know if I do...

That was somewhat the inspiration for my doing it, since I already know how obsessive I can get about things, and fimfiction is one of them. I'm looking forward to doing this, but I already know I'm probably going to head to my computer a dozen times or more, start to bring up fimfiction and stop myself.
(One reason I don't drink alcohol whatsoever and never have [with one or two exceptions] is that I know myself very, very well.)
Of course, it's entirely possible some of the other things I do will take over. I can spend hours just with a blown up screenshot from mlp and clip studio paint...

Thanks. As mentioned, credit to bookplayer for getting me thinking in that direction...

3106982 Well, before you drop off the web entirely, have a look at this. This guy was at the Harry Potter con I was at this week, and he was a blast. I think both you and Elric would have liked him.

He does look like his show would be fun, and I've seen shows like that before at rennfaire. Totally missed our last local one, and it'll be a good while until another one.
And I can only imagine what a Harry Potter con would be like.

I won't be totally off the web, just fimfiction, though, and Elric has my e-mail, in fact...

How'd the break go? You should try for a full week as a dare xD
