Alright, so in Empty Pages I have a little writers block. I have plenty of ideas, but they are too nebulous to put down. So I'm writing this to help pin my options down, and get done community input. Without further ado:
Spike: Spike isn't ready yet to take a major role in Twilight's life. He is going to keep showing up here and there though, mid chapter. I could do the chapter where Spike and Twilight remeet.
Blueblood: I plan for Twilight to remeet blueblood in court. Should be interesting after he ran in fear of her power. But I want two chapters 'chronologically' before then.
Older Twilight. I have so much I want to write with the mane 6. But I want to establish Twilight's childhood better first. Working title is Blank Notes.
Cadence: I find that I can't work cadence in without going to the past, to pre cutie mark twilight, so I can establish how cadence feels about twilight, and vice versa. I can't really shoehorn it into empty pages because I want to keep everything in chronological order, so I would have to wrote a short separate fic.
Twilight shenanigans. Much like the pancake arc. Which started as 3 paragraphs. I have a few thought up, but don't know which ones are appropriate at this juncture. Twilight meets Vynl scratch, follows her home. Twilight and the paparazzi. Twilight in class. Twilight meets ambassadors from the non pony lands. Twilight encounters a changeling. I think I'm pretty good at expanding things.
So, yeah. Thoughts?
I'd like to read Twilight and Spike chaper, but at end all these ideas are interesting
I'm interested in Cadence's friendship with Twilight but I understand trying to stay chronological.
To wait older Twilight to a sequel is a good idea. While it is a very interesting part, your Twilight character in this story needs a solid background and your writing so far on her younger years has been extremely entertaining and it would be a big shame of you made to large jumps in her age/went to fast with the story.
The ideas you have so far all sound very entertaining! I really like that you are including a lot of other characters that she meets and interacts with, it creates fun interactions (nice to see the inclusion of Blue Blood as a child!). Also, Even if you set chapter 8 as "skippable" I would say its rather important in showing a clue of how this Twilight sees the world. I have read a few stories about younger characters and often they don't make them sound their age (often they just feel or sound a lot older then they are), something you have managed to avoid in Empty Pages!
Take your time with this, test different ideas, switching between story-development chapters and "shenanigans"/daily-situations/fun-events chapters etc. While you expressed some difficulties with writing Twilight (from the other post) I think your nailing it.
Anyway! Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next chapters in Empty Pages and Clean Slate! (Also for Rock ☾ Equestria)
Edit: Ow ya, I was suppose to vote on something... well! I would really like to hear the rest of the event in chapter 9. After that, I think you can pick rather freely, I very much like the idea of Twilight starting in class and/or learning from Celestia.
