Night Shift spoilers ahead.
Occasionally, I google the titles of my fics. I do this out of curiosity: I always want to know if there's any sort of discussion regarding them that I missed. I did that today. And as I was flicking through the pages, finding nothing interesting, on like page 5 or 6 I found something I hadn't seen before. Something amazing, made by one "z4z."
I'm thumbnailing it because it's huge and you absolutely must see it in full size (and because it contains some serious spoilers). There is just so much detail in this.
It's got the cherry tree and the falling petals and the flowers.
It's got Decadence controlling the mane 5 and Shining Armor. It's got their yellow eyes.
It's got the Elements and the bloody dress on Decadence.
It's got Twilight and Vinyl and Trixie. It even has Twilight's little wound on the right cheek. That's from chapter 3, people.
It's got Omen and Octavia. It's got Octavia's mist and Omen's bats.
It's got Twilight's closed eyes just before she unleashes the Elements.
So much care went into this. I mean, it's just so awesome. I just... I mean, holy...
And right now it's at, like, 20 views. Five or so of those have been from me. See, this is why I keep googling my own things, and this is why I check so many pages even when I think I won't find anything. And this is why I keep telling you people: if you do something like this, bloody tell me.
This could've been lost in the vast gulfs of the internet, never to be seen by more than a handful of people. Let's correct that, shall we?
My only complaint is that it doesn't depict Celestia and Luna also under her sway. Even so, great fanart!

Holy crap I cannot believe it took me this long to find this.
I know that this is far, far too late and you probably won't ever read this, but I would feel weird if I never said anything, so thank you so much! I am beyond amazed and grateful that you liked my art enough to dedicate a whole blog post to it. I remember suddenly getting a pretty big spike in views and comments out of nowhere, and I figured it must have been featured or talked about somewhere, but I wouldn't have thought it was by the author themselves!
(Unfortunately, life got in the way and I forgot to track down the source until now. :/)
It was originally about the first part of the climax in the castle (hence Vinyl and Trixie and the little metal ring at the center of their magic nimbus thingy), but it just turned into a general symbolic smorgasbord of things from the finale in general. The lack of Celestia and Luna was a pretty big oversight on my part (couldn't think of a good way to fit them in the layout), but it's a bit late now to rework it, I suppose. And, yeah, it took a partial reread or two to get all the little details. I'm glad you liked all of them!
So to end this little ramble, I 'm glad you enjoyed my art, and thank you for writing the kickass fic that inspired it!
