An Explanation of Sorts · 5:12pm Mar 3rd, 2015
So, a bit of explanation is in order, given my lack of recent commentary on the subject. The laptop? It started functioning like normal a few days after the blog posting. No rhyme or reason. Just decides to go back to normal.
After that, writing should be simple, right?
Not really... I do have to voice a bit of frustration on my part. See, the latest chapter of A Blouse Unbuttoned has been revised no less than twice since I started writing it on Boxing Day. The first time, it was a dream sequence based on the burning mountain village in Tomb Raider. Dee was going to take on the role of Lara Croft, with Snips and Snails as two of the cultist folks, culminating in the encounter with the stallion from the arcade. I wrote that much on the 26th, and then got frustrated by distractions, deciding to take a break.
Then, in February, I decided to get back to it... only, when I looked at it, I got frustrated and thought it was stupid idea. So I scrapped it and started again. This time, I was aiming for a Lovecraftian nightmare sequence where Dee is meeting with her mother, who refused to recognize Dee as Button. This was supposed to culminate in some eldritch abomination representative of 'Button's masculinity' bursting forth from her mother's womb and attacking her.
As you can guess, I decided to get back to work on this last night... Here's where my normal problem came back into play. I once again grew frustrated with what I'd put forward thus far, and scrapped it. I decided "screw the dream sequence," I just want to get moving again... and then the migraine started again. I knew once the migraine started, I couldn't get into writing at all. See, I don't get migraines frequently, but when I do, I can't do much of anything. I can try to focus, but I just end up thinking about what I can do to get rid of the migraine... Needless to say shit only gets dark at that point.
I'm going to try to get the chapter done, and I think it will move a lot quicker without me trying for that cerebral mind-fuck of a dream I usually try to write.
just keep those for extra later then....
Have you tried sacrificing a goat in the name of Yog-Sothoth? That usually helps with migranes...
Actually, sacrificing any herd animal to any of the great old ones could help, but Yog-Sothoth is the best, and goats are preferable, although he will also accept sheep and cattle.

Simple solution: write the dream sequence just as a normal scene with a few inconsistencies. Dreams focus more on the emotion than the actual content. In this case, write the emotions first, and then the content. That 'mother' 'nightmare' can just basically be Button talking to his mother as Dee with her seeming to give stern disapproval. No male avatars of masculinity or funky fantasy shit that would normally feel out of place in the story, just a scene that feels right with the overall method of the telling. You get me?
A lesson from my teacher to you: "Keep it simple, stupid."
edit: Not that you're stupid, Seven.
Oh, Nep-Nep. A stuck up rich girl who has everything and does gymnastics for kicks deciding her life is boring and becomes a treasure hunting "Screw you pops, I do what I want" treasure hunter as a hobby and profession would have made a wonderful story.
I wish I could wrap you up nice and tight with my medical skills till all the migraines went away, Neppy. Hope you get well soon.
Take care, and say hi to Ge-Ge for me! <3
(seriously, I hope you get well soon. and take your time, we'll mostly all still be here when you do update anyways.)
2846409 Oh, I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm not stupid. But I've definitely decided to just go for simplicity's sake and portray her having a nightmare the simpler way.
2846274 Unrelated to this... or maybe not so much... I see we have similar tastes in images.
2846579 Which one? There are several routes, y'know.
2846584 Portraying it from someone else's limited third person perspective.
2846588 ...cheater. Slothful curmudgeon. ...eh, I suppose the scene isn't entirely necessary to be shown, but when a story is told in someone's limited first person, I prefer it to stay that way...no matter how much I want to cuddle that person to happiness in the end for the other.
Oh, I'm actively searching for GB novels now. Got any good US-licensed ones that you'd recommend? And I don' mean those of the crossdressing genre.
2846635 Also, is it bad that I wanna stick Dee in some power armor and make her fight Tyranids?
2846641 Yes. Yes, it is.
To quote (a user on this site) SuperGiantRobot: "You sick fuck."
Best of luck! I know all to well the pains of frustration and migraines....
2846579 we do?....
2847145 I saw you on that trap!Twilight x Shining Armor picture on derpibooru.
2847385 oooh k , i thought you were referring to our icons there , i still wanna know how they justify tagging it as trap when it looks like futa flat chest....
2847425 I'll explain it on the image, rather than go into anatomy detail here.

Err, what now? I'd like to hear this conversation. What about traps?
2847818 It's easier if you look it up. Keywords "Twilight Sparkle, Trap, Shining Armor, Human on Pony Action". Derpibooru it if you dare.
2847832 Ah. I wouldn't tag it Trap either. Maybe shemale. Definitely not futa, though.
You never answered my query though? Do you know any decent novels fitting the criterion?
2847870 Can't say that I've actively looked into any actual novels. I've found the odd smut on Amazon's ebook store, but nothing that I've actually bothered reading.
2847941 ...You look at smut on Amazon Estore... JUDGING!

2848041 It's more like it's the only stuff that come up with the search term 'gender bending' or such variance. If I want smut, I have Fimfiction, Fictionmania, and Literotica.
2848046 I now have two other sites to peruse. Is there anything you'd recommend on them?
2848050 The only thing that immediately comes to mind is 'Becoming My Girlfriend" on Fictionmania.
2848053 Is there any way to move it to an EPub file for easier viewing?
2848080 Not that I know without installing something such as Calibre.
2848082 Ah. Is it all porn?
Is what all porn? The contents of Fictionmania or the story? The story has a lot of smut, but it has an overarching plot to it.
