...Wow.
My number of watchers really went up after my last blog post. I guess that's a good sign. My ideas must be good.
Anyway, Metamorphisis is being written, and ideas are getting fleshed out for Families. And as of today, my revisions to Post Nuptials are done. Nothing too major, it's mostly just grammer and spelling, though I did listen to a few complaints: Fluttershy is more emotional, and Luna is less intrusive. I'll be submitting it to Equestria Daily before too long.
Anyway, to tide you guys over until my next story, I thought I'd give a few "What Could Have Beens" for Post Nuptials.
-Originally, only the Mane Six, Celestia, and Spike were going to get chapters. However, I decided Shining Armor deserved a chapter as well.
-As I said in my last entry, plans were considered for chapters focusing on Chrysalis and Cadence. This changed for different reasons: Chysalis' chapter would have been a massive tonal shift, with violence bringing the story up to Teen, which I didn't want to do. Cadence's chapter, meanwhile, would have taken the focus off of everyone's guilt, which was supposed to be the theme of the story, so I nixed it. Both will be released as one-shots.
-I originally was considering hooking Rarity and Fancypants up romantically, but I decided against it for a number of reasons. I couldn't get excited about the pairing, it seemed like an unneccessary romance (Rainbow and Soarin will have a point down the road, I promise), and what commentators I had back then were against the idea, so I decided they were dancing chaste.
-I also considered hooking up Fluttershy and Iron Will. I decided against this both because it seemed unneccessary and because I thought no one would like it. (Shows what I know, huh?)
-As I've stated earlier, I considered making Pinkie's chapter a purly comedic chapter to act as a breather, where every time Pinkie tried to angst she was distracted by something. This would have led to the narrator breaking the fourth wall to try to get Pinkie back on track, before throwing his hands up and moving on to Spike. This idea never got past enthusiasm, because it was a terrible idea.
-I considered having Shining talk to Cadence, but all my ideas worked better with Twilight. I guess it's just because Twilight's better established than Cadence, so there was more to play with.
-The final chapter was going to have Applejack and Rarity waking up in the same bed together. Then, after their freakout, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie admitting they had moved them there the night before. However, I worried (perhaps irrationally) that it would require me to up the rating, so I rejected it.
-Another idea for the final chapter was, upon finding out that Twilight had stayed with Princess Celestia the night before, the others noting they heard noises coming out of Twilight's room the previous night. Upon investigating, they would have found Octavia and Vinyl in Twilight's bed. Again, this was nixed due to the rating.
Well, those are the unused ideas. I bet you totally care.
I do care. The process of creating a story interests me, since I have no idea how it is done.

Too bad about the rating, some of those ideas were funny. Doesn't matter though, I loved how the story turned out
Perhaps you could do another post of alternate endings, could-have-beens, and what-if scenarios. That can have a viewer discretion warning and all the hijinks can ensue that you ever wanted. I know that I would certainly read whatever you wrote, as well as shower you with imaginary internet points.
Metamorphosis. Looks odd, I know, but there's what happens when you Anglify the Greek language.

The way it works for me is, I get an idea for a scene or a character, and then context starts growing to make sense of that scene or character. Much like a pearl around a grain of sand, a whole story starts to grow up around that one idea. And the story gets bigger and bigger and bigger, and if I don't let it out it will make my head explode.
I lost all hold of laughter by the time you reached Octavia and Vinyl in Twilights bed. I have no idea why, I must be slap happy
Shame about the rating chase, several of those ideas would have been hilarious.
