Updates: Looking Ahead (2/1/15)

Good day everypony!

I thought I would take a minute to let you guys know my upcoming plans for MLP:FIM fandom since, after a couple of blog posts, and finishing up a cover art for Lunaexcelsior I will be silent here until I finish setting up my online art, writing and comic business.

A big part of my business will be helping out my fellow creative MLP:FIM fans that have been so welcoming. I will be doing paid commissions and offering exclusive content to those who want to subscribe to me through patreon. I will be really grateful to whomever wishes to support me in this way because it will allow me more time to produce content that you enjoy and also develop my original work as well. I'll give you all a heads up when I get it set up this month for those of you interested.

I still will work on projects for free that interest me as well including fan fiction, fan art and blogging so don't worry I'm not going to start charging you to read my stories or view fan art! I love sharing my ideas inspired by this wonderful cartoon and you wonderful fellow bronies and pegasisters. I really wanted to share two projects I'm really excited about working on that will be coming up very soon!

Romance in Applelousa

I've been hired to be one of the artists to create pictures that will accompany an audio drama based on Cora Zone Unicorn's story Romance in Applelousa. It's a delightful little Flim Skim/Applejack ship fic that has really endeared the idea of this pairing to me. It undoubtably will be both a lot of work and fun and I'm looking forward to it.

By the way, I'm pretty sure she still needs artists and voice talent so check out the video below for details.

A Comedy Story for Dr Wolf

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with the wonderful MLP:FIM analyst Dr Wolf but not only is he a fan of the show but he's a supporter of good fan fiction often reading them on his Youtube Channel. You should check his channel out and subscribe if you want to see some excellent analysis of the show that is balanced and interesting.

I recently saw a post he did talking about a story idea, as an example of the sort of stories he'd like to see on the show, and I loved the idea. Check out the video!

You've probably figured out by now how much I love Discord, since he's been in everything I've written so far, but Applejack is also one of my favorite ponies. So far she's been a supporting character in my stories but I wanted to do something staring her at some point. I really loved the story idea Dr Wolf laid out here so I left a little post on how much I liked the idea and was thinking about writing a fan fic on it.

What really surprised me is he actually responded to the post saying that he really would like to see a fan fiction written about the idea so that clinched it for me. So writing this will not only be fun but be a present for Dr. Wolf as a thank you for the enjoyment I've had watching his videos. Thanks Dr. Wolf!

I'll start on this once I finish My Fair Draconequus so it will probably be in a month or two but I just had to post about it.

Dark Rising AU Universe

I've been kicking around an idea of a connected Alternate Universe with some of the stories I'm planning on writing. It would be a Dark Adventure series exploring the darker side of Equestrian magic and the societies we only see glimpses of in the show. My idea is interlinking the story ideas through the experiences of the Mane 6 carrying over and influencing the other stories. Also, the original characters I create for it would remain part of the universe and crop up through out.

I've pretty well decided Charcoal Shadow, if I include him, would be one of those OCs. I would include a story around Discord and how chaos fits into the world, the Zebra kingdom, one to be around the Griffins and Dragons, and another the Centaurs and Minotaurs. If I use Charcoal it would start with In the Shadows' sequel and would be centered around the Crystal Empire as much as trying to free him.
