A Minor Setback...also, any knife folks out there? · 2:49pm Feb 1st, 2015
Just a short one for today, I'm afraid. I have a bit of good news, but mostly just...frustrating news.
We've had a mini-mass exodus of workers at the shop; only one person outright left, but three went back to school and are only available part-time, meaning the rest of the full-timers have to pick up the slack.
53 hours this past week...gimme a break.
I've also come to realize that the reason why I was able to write so much a while back was my lack of work hours...but now I have bills to pay and many more responsibilities-both in and out of work. At least I got a nice fat raise and I'm getting buku overtime. 
That said, we ARE in the process of hiring a good number of knowledgeable folks to take up the hours (of which I'm directly involved now), and I've started up a small business in the meantime buying, selling, trading, and sharpening pocket knives. So that's something.
That brings me to my next point (pun totally intended): anyone here interested in pocket knives? Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, Microtech, Cold Steel, etc? If so, just gimme a shout here or in a PM, because I'm looking to start a new group here on Fimfiction:
"Bronies with Blades," dedicated to collection, maintenance, proper and safe use, and historical (and fantastical) applications of blades.
(Conversations about Pegasus Wingblades and the like are totally welcome and encouraged, BTW).
This invitation also extends to those interested in swords, both European and Eastern in design and usage. (I know This Guy will be interested) 
Ok, so, now ya'll know what's going on for now. This coming week my hours have dropped a good bit, but I won't have a day off until at least Thursday. So please bear with me and I'll try to get something done (be it blog or otherwise) done by then.

oh I'm sorry to hear that, I hope they cut down on your hours because I know if I was in your position I would be pointing daggers at them everytime they gave me more work. It's not fair of them to cut out a slice of your personal life just to deal with their failures. It's not your fault that your co-workers folded and left. In fact, someone as sharp witted as you ought to be higher up with all the crap you have to cut through. etc. etc.
but on a slightly more serious note, don't invite anyone who plays CS:GO into that group or you won't hear the end of it

I am in as well. I always keep two knives in my shoes or boots. Two in my pants pockets. A sheath knife on my belt. A large sheath knife or a hatchet on the left inside of my jacket and a bludgeon on the right side if I am wearing a jacket. I also have fun chains up my sleeves if I have sleeves. I like really like me some knives.
Dang, that's a heck of a work load but it's also pretty cool to hear what you are wanting to do with knives. Personally, I never leave home without my Puma pocket knife, definitely one of my favorites especially because it has a half serrated tanto blade, makes it very nice for paracording.
Awesome to see ya are not dead and that this story wont die with you.
On another note, I used to work for Remmington in the knife department, so I know my way around the topic.

Sounds interesting! I'm a knife collector and my collection focuses on Victorinox Swiss Army Knives. I carry always one with me; lots of tools in a small package

Absolutely. Yes to all of this. I myself own a neat little collection or replicas, fixed, folding, throwing and pocket blades.
Glad you are still going strong in life. When you get the group done make sure to message me or something. In case I am doing the same shit as you and working like a bloody psychopath.
Blades and bladed things are awesome. Here's a sword that, in the source that it's from, is over 100 million years old.
