"Where the hell is the next chapter?" · 3:58pm Jan 29th, 2015
My computer recently decided that it didn't like working, the eventual solution forcing me to reinstall windows and by extension all of my stuff, including word and other programs that I use regularly. Thankfully I have not lost any files so it wasn't a huge deal for me. The real big deal was that it took me a few days to reach that conclusion.
As a result I am slightly behind on writing the next chapter. I've been taking a look at some of the chapters I've written previously and have come to realize that 2000 words is nowhere near satisfying enough, both in terms of effort and what you folks get to read at home. Usually I set myself a 2000 word minimum, but I've decided to up that to 3000, because I honestly should be able to do better.
While we're on the subject, I may as well talk about what's happening with Adjustment. A lot of people reading my stories or following me will have probably have at least taken a look at it. I've already talked about how dissatisfied I was with it when I put it on hiatus, and I'm not going to go talking about it again.
Just some footnotes, I'm still going to re-write it, and I will be deleting the original chapters because I don't believe they accurately represent what I can do as a writer. I also may take a break from longer stories for a little while and focus on pumping out some one shots for a change before I go back to it. (I do have some ideas already in the works for this.)
I just decided to write this to let you know what's going on. I'm going to get my head down for the next few days and really push on with the next chapter.
No worries.
Just don't make your hobbies feel like work. That's when authors burn out.
I very much look forward to seeing your rewrite of Adjustment. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it already, so I'm sure it'll be even better.
Actually, I enjoyed it so much that it inspired the creation of my OC, Irony Shieldbreaker, and her backstory.
