Updates of December! · 3:17pm Dec 13th, 2014
New chapter is to editors and I wanted you to know that I'm fine. I've disappeared for a while because of a little game called Dragn Age: Inquisition. Sure you haven't heard of it I hope to complete my first Christmas fic in time for, well, Christmas. Speaking of DA, apart from Pony Age or whatever is it called is there another good DA pony fic? Maybe something based on DA2?
Oh, I know of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Is it fun? the only DA game I've played was Origins. Hmm, I've yet to beat Origins, so I'll have to re-install that.
2650704 D o it. It's frigging amazing. It has the epicness and character development of he bioware games of hold and is finally a worthy chapter of the saga. Some people would call it "Fantasy Commander SHepard." They are right because it has the same sheer awesomeness.

Awesome, I just need to get money for it, then.
And as for Mass Effect, I've beaten 1 and 2 three times each, but haven't even made in halfway through 3. Mostly because It's my brother's game, and his 360 broke .
Dragon Age is fun, though. It's one of the few games I like that you can literally make the character however you want. WoW (With RP addons, that is), Kotor, and on the occasion, Halo, are a few others. DA sits at #1 on the list, though
2650730 I agree on that. DA:I really succeeded in that. Not only you can use all the races introduced in the verse but all of them have some relevance in major or minor quests. Though, I prefer the Dalish above all others. What can is ay? Interesting culture.
I am sure I have seen other DA stories here but PonyAge is the only one I remember (that author is currently writing Awakenings). I really like the story though I am really waiting for that author to start PonyAge 2 so we can see what happens with Pinkie and Rainbow Dash.

I'm....not really sure what all there is in DA race wise.......How many races are we talking about?
2652046 Human, Elf, Dwarf and Qunari.
2651282 Why? What happened between them?
2652380
Well this does contain spoilers but since you asked I assume you kind of want them so...
The author made the unusual choice of making Pinkie a combination of having Sten's place in the storyline but actually being Hawke from DA2. So Pinkie is destined to leave for Geld Wall (I think that is the name in Pony Age). Pinkie and Rainbow Dash are very close in the story (they are the closest pair in the group) and Dash promises Pinkie that after the Pony Spawn are defeated she will travel with Pinkie to help find her family in Geld Wall. In talking with the author Pinkie and Rainbow Dash are probably the only two mane six characters to be shipped with one another though that has not occurred...yet.
I think the story is worth reading. Pinkie is a treat in the story. She s smart and funny and her use of alchemy to make healing/stamina potions and bombs make for some interesting utility in a fantasy story. The story is also faithful to the important parts of DA but does not hold so tightly to the game that you wonder why you bother reading it. The author does diverge in some areas (such as Pinkie being Hawke and that she is with the Warden in DA1) but they help make the story more of the author's and I think it works well.
2652430 Oh my god...Does that mean she's Silly! Hawke?! Going to read it now!
2652491
I greatly enjoyed that story and most of it is due to Pinkie. She is funny and a bit goofy at times but at other times she shows her skill and her serious thoughts. Enjoy the story it is worth reading.
Oh also let me know how you liked it.
2654237 Finished the first one (finally) and started on the sequel. It's a perfect balance of the sow and the games, I'm surprised One little complaint I have, and that's just my personal opinion, is that Pinkie would've made a good Alistair. Alistair is a riot. This is the same guy that plays along with the silliest things. Lamposts in winter and royal bastards, anyone? Feed a joke to that guy, he will spin an epic tale of cheese and he's just as incoherent as Pinkie sometimes.

Alistair is pretty funny I will admit and he can be a bit of a goofball though to me the reason why he does humor is so different from Pinkie (he does it to protect himself rather than to bring smiles to others) that I personally see a difference. I think AJ fits the role very well from the shows perspective. Pinkie being Hawke/Sten is an unusual choice of course and very much random seeming. If you read the comments where she first appears others think so too though most people come to like it.
I think the author picked certain aspects of the characters that he thought would fit and worked with that. For instance while being a witch of the wilds is probably dirty and thus not Rarity like Morrigans haughty attitude is a good fit for Rarity as is her brand of sarcasm I think.
I did like having Pinkie use a unique fighting style in the story. Being a bomb maker/user is very different from the rest of the cast and it dovetails well into her use of recipes in baking.
2654366 True. They finally added a real choice of using those crafts only in Inquisition, with the Tempest and Artificer specs for the rogue. True, rogue Hawke was incredibly powerful. Pump dexterity and the enemies melt. Though, Silly! Hawke is implied to use humour for shielding himself as well. In some ways, even Pinkie but to a lesser, and I mean lesser, scale.
