So if I had to guess, I'd say the story is roughly past the two-third point, and I was just curious about which characters you guys think are good, evil, sympathetic, irredeemable, etc. What I've loved more than anything else about writing this story is hearing how people see various characters, and even though I'm absolutely terrible at replying to comments (I just never know what to say) rest assured I read each and every single one.
Also, while you're at it, a handful of folks over at TVTropes have been busy writing an entry for this story, so go ahead and check that out.
Wait, there are good characters in this story?
Well, I still need to read the most recently released chapters, but I'll take this opportunity to praise your writing and let my sympathies be known...
I think that your story is among the top three most innovative, most entertaining epics that I've encountered on this site. The accompanying artwork gives the story a richness that many others lack - and will be impossible to duplicate. That's one of the things that makes your world so tragically wonderful.
You know, of course, that I root for the pinpricks of light in the dark world you have created. My hopes and fears for several characters;
Twilight; Oh, please, I hope she just made a mistake and can be brought back from the darkness... She tried to stop a tyrannical Celestia and it all went horribly wrong as she tried to save Equestria.
Scootaloo: The soul of hope - and a worthy heir to the Element of Loyalty... but hope and despair are in a race.
Apple Bloom: Don't give up on the world quite yet... you came back to Equestria for a reason.
Sweetie Belle: I see the change coming... don't let Twist's death be in vain!
Cadance; The Elements should never be used for revenge. Ever. Their retribution should put fear in your heart. Shining Armor would never want that.
Babs and Snails - there is still good in you...
And, finally, Fluttershy... I know you've always had inner strength and can be a leader... just be a positive leader. Your kindness is Equestria's last hope, and Twilight's only hope...
Twily please have some light in your heart somewhere
oh and Scootaloo is best crusader fighting to survive in a cruel world that doesnt care about her struggle yet she still has good in her.
Absolutely loving this fic so far.
My favorite character is Scotaloo (might be biased), she still has principles and a good heart even after everything that happened to her. Merrilay is pure evil and I hope she gets f*cked up in the end. Finally, I can't wait to see Fluttershy and Queen Twilight.

I maintain something fishy's going on with Twilight. Not sure if it's "Emperor of Mankind" like and she's half dead on her throne, or she's a puppet for elements within Equestria's government (to the best of my knowledge, Fancypants, Blueblood, or Spitfire have yet to appear). The changeling angle's always possible as well. If I'm the evil empress, I'm going to be taking a more proactive role in things if the one artifact capable of defeating me is suddenly going missing.
Then there's the comedy part of me that's wants it all to be a hilariously dark misunderstanding. Twilight's perfectly normal and not evil and everyone's just been misinterpreting her orders and have accidentally turned Equestria into a grimdark dystopia.
Twi is a puppet of sombra's dark magic or something... heck I dunno and the other elements are like dead/non dead/puppet thingys! And I freaking like the cake twins they are crrrraaaazy! Exc fic! Love it!
