Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. Oh, wait, no one's even been talking about me? Well, fine. But the good news is I am alive and well, and I'm actively working on some horse words for general consumption. Unlike my usual creative process where I come up with an idea, briefly jot it down in one of a number of locations and then forget about it, I am presently writing a story that's been on my mind for a few years now, and I've got some actual words on a page that I'm happy with. The only question I still have for how that one is going is whether to have Braeburn open the story himself, or have a token narrative outside the framed story. Maybe the latter will work out, but I'll need a little info from a friend before I decide either way. I should get the skeleton of this done fairly soon, and I expect a publishable product by the end of the year.
That's still a while out, so in competition with that I've got an original piece that I've started developing that I think fits fairly well as a pony short story as well, and I think that one is going to be published first. At the latest, you should be seeing that by the end of November. I'll likely make two versions of the story to fit my two pictures of "what else" might happen, and I see one of those versions being an interesting trip to Equestria. This may or may not intersect with main six, but will at least run into some group of the royalty. (Having not watched any MLP since the end of last season, I'm not sure how the royal dynamic may have changed, so I'll likely set the potential MLP visit in the season 3 era.)
Bad news is, all the other projects I've mentioned before are pretty much forever going to remain unfinished. I figure I'll polish off the rest of the first arc of my End of Ponies in December before officially retiring the project instead of pretending I'm going to eventually get back to it and catch up. The haunted library story didn't work out; the fallen angel thing from my last post is effectively finished, but it's not a story I expect I'll return to for several years. But I'm not prepared to abandon things as they stand without getting a couple of things on my profile. I'll also be uploading a story I wrote for one of the previous /fic/ write-offs by the end of the week as proof that I'm living up to the new productive Warden.
More good news is that my editing business/service is officially reopened. Send me a PM with details about your story i. e. length, tags, depth of edit/review you're looking for, and I'll let you know when I can take a look at it. If you want an actual edit rather than a review, please give me a google docs link rather than a fimfiction one. I will gladly look at finished or unfinished works. Just bear in mind that I'm not likely to watch any of the new season, so if your story relies on recent episodes I won't necessarily be able to offer the best reviews.
