I use quotes for the word rap, because I think that what is called rap is a far cry from it's origins of how and where these songs came from; a time when they had, that had depth of character and almost told you a story. What the fuck happened to that concept? Now, every jerk-off throws together some shit piece song about money, hookers, and other crap, that I could write better lyrics than, in four minutes flat. What happened to taking time to THINK about lyrics, song progress, background beat ect? Also, someone please beat the creator of the auto-tuner on principal alone.
The only rap song I heard in while that I liked was one my brother showed by a group called, "Jedi mind trick" about the Vietnam war.
Now THAT was a great song. It has a level of class you would expect from a classic rock song or something.

Not really an excuse, dude. I saw Guns and Roses a few years back and Axel Rose came out on stage over two god damn hours after the previous band had played. He came out at 11:00, the time a concert usually ends (at least where I live.) This wasn't some open event, either. Just because it's their show, shouldn't mean they get to act like dicks.

Now, I'm not against having violence in media, and I'd be the first to admit that I think violence is a nessasary part of sdtroytelling, but half the crap in those songs make me sick. They are the Cupcakes of the music industry!
There are better ways to explore dark themes in music. Take Kevin Sherwood and the heavy metal he's composed for the Nazi Zombies games.
Its plenty dark, but there's actually a reason for it being the way it is. Also, its actually good.
