So, I'm moving reviews to Mondays now. Here's this week's
Also, a few weeks ago it was announced that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would be playing Black Adam in the upcoming Captain Marvel movie (I DON'T CARE IF HE'S CALLED SHAZAM NOW, HE'S CAPTAIN MARVEL!). I... to be honest, I don't really know what to think. I've already lost faith in DC due to them cramming every possible hero they could think of into the Batman/Superman movie, so maybe this is just another hit to their attempts at making a viable film franchise. On the other hand, I could be completely wrong, and it's nice to see the Big Red Cheese getting some attention.
And apparently a Supergirl TV show might be in the works.
If only DC ACUALLY CARED ABOUT WONDER WOMAN!!!

Marvel knows how to arc weld the stories together, and to give each hero their own starting movie. I don't mind a somewhat dark background, but to leave out some humor is a bad thing.

It is true, he did kick ass against the Crime Syndicate.
The Rock as Black Adam doesn't sound like an instance death sentence, if he can hit the right degree of ham. That's why I hold Black Adam and Doctor Doom together: they're iron fisted, megalomaniacal dictators, but they give goofy speeches, so it's okay to root for them. Just like with Megatron and Cobra!
Sadly, DC feels the need to discourage snark and charm in their pajama-wearing cash cows (thank you 2438046, I was going to link the article, but anyone can find it with today's The Gutters). But the thing about ham is that it's hard for the unimaginative to notice it.

Personally, I've got no problem with the casting. It seems in the Rock's range; heck, after being the Scorpion King, he's essentially already played Black Adam!
And, admittedly, this wouldn't be the first time DC prioritized Supergirl over Wonder Woman:

And as for that fanfic, Holy Manure, Batman! I can only imagine that that was written by a troll or someone on some strong stuff!

Okay, ignoring the religious stuff, what does this have to do with a land of magical cat warriors? It’s never mentioned before and it’s never brought up again! Did you really need to add religion into all this?! Did it further the story that much that you couldn’t just leave it out?! And the citizens just accept it, whatever it is, without any kind of debate! I don’t care what religion you support, people don’t just accept something out of nowhere and for no reason! There has to be time and patience!
Holy mother of cats was this stupid… I’ve read garbage before, but this… is just garbage. It has to be a trollfic. There is no way I am going to believe that a human being could willingly make something this spectacularly stupid… You know, besides Mykan… Here’s to a better story next week.
