Not This Again · 10:00pm Aug 28th, 2014
So once again I find myself with four documents open at a time and I'm bouncing between them on a regular basis. I'm about to open a fifth.
Currently working on:
Of Sky and Snow
Under Our Wing (FINALLY!)
Hidden Hearts
Marks of History (Slowly)
And I just opened a document to work on the CD sequel, the first chapter of which is going to be fast paced, sudden, and one of the biggest cliffhangers I have ever written. Ever. I apologize for it in advance.
I work on anywhere from 1-3 on any given night, and usually get a surprising amount done on each. The only problem here is that I constantly stop writing one in the middle of a scene and I come back to it with no idea where I am, what I'm doing, or what I was trying to do. It usually ends up with me rewriting pretty much the entire scene. So if you're one of the hundreds of people looking forward to the above fics... good for you! You get updates... eventually.
If you're one of the people waiting for any of the other fics currently on hiatus... sorry. It's just not happening. I've also gone a direction with Under Our Wing I'm not sure if many people will like. I think I have enough experience in both writing and the subject to write it decently well, but you never know until you try and this will be the first time. Okay technically second, but I've kinda forgotten about The Day the Sun Didn't Rise. Seriously, most of my followers probably haven't even heard of that one, and I'm happy to keep it that way.
So those are the fics to keep an eye on for now.
As for some real life updates, I've been... okay. Got almost all my school shit together the other day, still have to make an appointment with guidance and retake my grade 11 science classes, but I can do that any time. Just gotta juggle a few classes. On the plus side, if I can set it up the way I want to, I'll still have a spare, so that's nice. And with the work load I'm going to end up having, a spare is a virtual godsend.
My final year of school starts on the second, and I have very mixed feelings about it. I'm not going to get any kind of secondary education; as soon as I'm out of highschool I'm finding a steady job and starting work on writing a novel. I have a couple ideas right now, but nothing solid yet. It's gonna be strange. For 16 years I have known nothing but school, and in less than a year it's going to be over for the foreseeable future. For the first time though I actually have a plan and an idea of what I want to do with my life.
It's strange. Every year in school every teacher will tell you that you're going to be out in the real world one day, but you can never quite grasp the concept. As students we have never known what the world is actually like outside of school. We may have a rough idea from some part time jobs or full time over the summer, but we still have school looming over us all the time, a steady wall to fall back on at the end of every summer.
Then, suddenly, when you finish highschool the wall crumbles to dust.
Ah well, I still have a year to go, and I can't screw this one up.
I hope you're all having a good day, and now I have to write some of the CD sequel. Still dunno what to call it... I have a plan for it to be a full on saga, and the main antagonist will be revealed in this fic, but not until the very end. Oh the plans I have for this series.... I think I'm going to dub it the Dreams series and have the other two be "____ Dreams" because... well, it'd be cool. And I can have a box on my user page with all the stories in it called the Dream Box.... hehehe...
Err... right... I'm gonna go do that now... BYE!
I wanna have something out before school starts, so stay tuned.
Until next time,
Kodeake out
It's about time! Oh, and Marks of History. That one I'm excited for. I stand ready to assist in whatever capacity necessary.
