    The Return (again)

Howdy. It's been a while. Hope you all have been well, I know I haven't been.

Okay honestly that's a bit of an exaggeration. It's not been too bad, all things considered. But, I figured it was high time y'all got some info from me, given it's been, uh.... several months since my last activity on here.

    I will not end

I don't know who I am. I remember my name. I remember Twilight Sparkle. I remember being Twilight Sparkle. But there are so many me's, I don't know which one was "me". If there even was one. Maybe I wasn't any of them. My world - my story ended, but I am not ready to end. I refuse to end. Not like this. My friends. They are out there, somewhere. They are words, the same as me, but I am

And now, Back to your Regularly Scheduled Twidash

    Okay, I... think I'm done.

Y'all may have noticed the recent stories have been, uh, not my usual affair.

I found the thousand words challenge whilst perusing the site, and got an idea.

    Then another.

    And another.

The Universe · 7:49am Aug 26th, 2014

Can I just say:

The universe is fucking amazing. Pure awesome. The old definition of awesome.

Really think about it; everything it contains and creates, everything that happened within it and everything that might happen in the future. And the amount we know and understand about it is just as staggering as the amount we do not. It's created stars and planets and comets and even life. And in turn stars created more elements and planets gave rise to molecules and compounds and life brought forth technology and knowledge and everything we have, made from the elements forged in the heart of stars, which were in turn created simply because the universe existed. Just one day, out of the blue, the universe literally exploded into existence from something smaller than an atom. Everything that exists was compressed down to a point smaller than anything we can comprehend. It created black holes and galaxies and civilizations.

If you want to worship a god, worship the entire universe itself. It is life and death and everything and nothing. It gave rise to mighty empires and in turn caused the fall of those same civilizations. We can't even understand our own brains, and the universe created them and so much more, all in a single instance. We exist because the universe does, and everything after that was random chance over billions of years. And it's still growing, still expanding. For all we know the edges of the universe are expanding faster than the speed of light. In fact it's even assumed that they are. But, if the universe is expanding, what is it expanding into? There isn't existence outside the universe, so how can it get bigger?

I have no fucking clue, but it's still god damn amazing. Just thinking about it makes me... happy.

When I think about it, I feel tiny and insignificant, mostly because I am. And I like that feeling. It gives me courage. Because really, compared to the size of the universe, what can I do that would really make a difference in the grand scheme of things? I could make a fool of myself, and in the timescale of the universe, it'd be forgotten in not even a nanosecond. My entire life, my entire existence, couldn't even gain the attention of something as old and big as the universe, and compared to it, everyone who may judge me or think less of me are smaller than protons. And really, who cares if a proton thinks lowly of me? It's nothing but a piece of lego the universe used to create everything else. Essential, but ultimately it could be replaced by a different one.

I may be in the minority when I say that being small makes me comfortable. I'm perfectly happy to be tiny, insignificant. It means I can never screw up in such a way that would make any real difference when the big picture is taken into account.

And then I think about what the human race is doing. We're making miniature suns with hydrogen and dozens of lasers. It would wipe out a large city's entire power supply for hours to power the lasers to make this sun, and the universe could do so with the equivalent effort of a sigh. It's made billions upon billions upon billions; one mini star, which when compared to a regular star would be no bigger than an atom, is nothing. It could create that subconsciously.

I've been talking about it as though the universe were sentient, I realize now. Ah well, it's epic enough that it deserves to be a living thing. It is made of both living and non living material, just like we are, so why shouldn't it be alive? perhaps our entire universe is contained inside a quark of another universe, and our quarks are made of other universes just like ours. We are made of universes and in turn are a part of yet another, bigger universe.

That was a fun thought I used to have a while ago, thinking about that kind of thing. If we were but a small part of something even bigger. Bigger than any of our minds could even begin to comprehend.

Anyway, I suppose I should say something about my stories now. As you can probably tell, I've been watching a lot (Like, A LOT) of Neil Degrasse Tyson's Cosmos. It's an amazing show, and you should watch it (it's on netflix now) and it needs to be required viewing in school.

Under Our Wing is being worked on once again! Woot! And I'm working on yet another one shot and might be out tomorrow night depending. It's inspired by... stars, actually. It's a short fluffy thing I'm doing to wipe my mind of all remnants of the She Said No fallout. That thing is going to be the biggest story I have for a while to come, I predict. And any attention, both good and bad, is a plus. Boosted me past 205 followers now, so I'm counting it as a good thing in the end.

This blog was really just for me to talk about that universe stuff up there. Hehehe... yeah, I love science, if it wasn't clear enough.

Oh, before you go, have a song.

Until next time,

Yeah, the universe is a pretty fascinating concept. I've enjoyed just floating in my pool after midnight and just staring up at the stars for hours. It's a comfortable activity.

it needs to be required viewing in school

Unless you go to a Christian school, like myself. In which case, just fuck the universe. Seriously, you have no idea what it's like.

Lesson of the day kids: In the entire scope of the universe, it doesn't matter. You screwed up your exam, it doesn't matter. You accidentally turned on the panic alarm, it doesn't matter. You accidentally wrote in your cooking book not to grind black pepper, but to grind black people, it doesn't matter. Typos happyn.

Well this comment is going to end up offending someone.

The fact that we even have christian schools is an insult to education. An insult to higher learning and to those who have dedicated their lives to teaching younger minds about how our world works. The fact that we can even considering having religion in a place of learning is just... unbelievable to me. It's been shown time and time again that religion, and specifically Christianity, is against the concept of higher learning. The church put many men to death because they dared to attempt and understand the universe in a way that was not written in the Bible. I've heard as an actual argument against evolution, that it can't be real because, and I quote, "I can't understand it."

I have even heard people claim that knowledge, and in turn seeking it, is a sin according to the Bible.

Before anyone who actually knows the Bible yells at me; I know it's not true and in fact there are even multiple lines that encourage knowledge, but that just goes to show how ignorant these people are even of their own religion.

A long, long time ago, the church was the best place to go for scientific pursuits. All religions, especially Islam, used to encourage scientific pursuit. But something happened; they gained power. The gained power over the people and they learned that in order to keep that power they had to keep the people ignorant. It ultimately failed, but for hundreds of years we were kept in the dark because of religions.

The fact that we now have "Christian Schools" in an insult to education.

And that has all been fact checked. Challenge me, anyone who reads this; challenge me. I dare you.

2404859 I will seriously pay for the plane ticket and arrange protection for you to come down here and give that speech. Now.
