What if I told you that you could play an MMO on the scale of Eve online, except it didn't suck ass, plays entirely through a browser, with no downloads (not even flash)?
Well, in like 3 minutes, Age of Ascent is having it's bi-weekly open beta. it's a proof of concept that lets you PvP and blow up space ships. They are testing out the web-based client and cloud-servers that allow the game to support thousands of players in a pvp engagement with no slow-down (take that, wow/eve/warhammer online/DaoC)
After that, there is a 70% chance I'll finally get off my ass and write.
does this mean it is free, or is this merely the beta?

2394725 Last I heard, Star Citizen is still in alpha. Premium beta at best. There's also Elite Dangerous, but I don't know if that's going to be free to play eventually or not.
