I Hate Delays, Don't You? -_- · 2:23am Aug 6th, 2014
So...I've been called out by many people since promising to release the next chapter of Blue Angel within a month of the previous one.
Obviously that hasn't happened as planned, and for that I offer an apology and an explanation for context:
Since that promise was made, at work we've lost two employees due to being fired/quitting for school this upcoming fall. We've lost a third to another job and yet another is now part-time for school. We've also switched managers yet again amidst multiple employees taking their months-past schedules vacations. On top of that , we've experienced the greatest percentage business growth as a shop since 2011, with me and my mechanic routinely beating our monthly budget by 50-60%.
We're often over-whelmed to the point that we can't even take care of basic things like take lunches and keep the shop clean. Overtime is nice, but damn it's taking a lot from my life! In short, we need help in the worst way.
But here is this new manager who isn't afraid in the slightest to rock the hell outta the damn boat that previous ones were too scared to do. In less than two weeks, we've cleaned out the upstairs storage facility that's held over 8 years worth of old documents, received new printers for the entire shop, new Verizon fiber optic cables throughout the place, and replaced most of our broken/worn out tools, all while still increasing sales and general morale despite the shitty predicament he's inherited.
Along with that, he's constantly on our bosses' asses to get more help over here because as he put it: "It's bullshit that a shop this big and profitable is so damn busy and short-handed that people can't even take a break and have accepted it as the norm, when it absolutely shouldn't be. If we don't fix things and get help here, we're gonna be losing employees like hands and fists." In short, he gets it.
Instead of basking in the glory or whatever of being promoted to manager, he's not sitting on his thumbs; he's determined to turn this place around without losing anyone else and to do that, he's going to get us the help we deserve.
Phew!
So things are looking up, new help is arriving, and vacation time is ending for those that have been gone. I'm not entirely sure now when the next chapter will be posted, but I've been working my way back through the story, fixing small errors and refreshing myself in the meantime.
Man, I feel like I need a vacation sometimes, ya know?
Please keep on my butt, you guys. I don't take it as anything irritating, more as a reminded that I got thousands counting on me to get stuff done.
Thanks for the continued encouragement!
PS: Ah darn, BA finally hit 100 Dislikes
Wonder who the 100th guy/girl was...
Oh wellz, I'll keep ya'll posted on what's up on my end!
Have some awesome moosiks in the meantime!
Thanks for inspiring me to keep going, guys!
Delays suck, but real life stuff like work and school is more important. I'm a patient man, I can wait a bit longer lol.
That sounded fairy optimistic indeed. Best of luck at the workspace, sounds like things are turning out for the better.
Hope you manage to get some of that vacation - or even free-ish time - now then.
EDIT: This community has got me listening to so many genres of music, lately metal. Meh, I like it.
From your description of your manager it sounds like the only reason you didn't say he walks on water is because you haven't seen him at the pool yet.
I love getting a good manager like that. It makes you life just a little better despite the hell you're currently in.
Gotta love having a good leader as a manager. While they may not be able to do they jobs of those they manage, they sure can make the job easier (and/or more bearable depending on the work) when they actually know what they are doing and willing to go after their bosses when the situation calls for it. Unfortunately the opposite is also true. A shitty manager can make a hard job impossible.
Your manager is everything I want in a job.

KEEP AT IT, also never worry about those dislikes, there will always be people who do that, I bet over half of them are non bronies that put a dislike on everything in the site, just to put us down, honestly, why do some normal people hate us bronies with such passion? what did we ever do to them?
Was given this impression.

I am in a similar situation here, its quite understandable.
Maybe the 100th person was just jelly that they didn't have Dash threaten to sexually abuse them
After rereading my commert my only action is
It's always good to have a boss that is actively useful and helpful.
Man, that sounds like a great manager...
Although the story is important to many, your job is more important to me, and hopefully many others. Hope life treats ya well as always!

how does it feel to have a boss that doesn't akwardly follow you around, observing your every action, giving you busy work just so you can't leave a little early? i bet it feels good
thanks for sharing what has been happening. it switches my attitude from whens the things going to happen to take your time.

edit: i may have linked you my whole mlp music playlist but it's all good pony stuff.
I counter your Battle Beast with a cover of Battle Beast.
Personally, I think this version is better than the original.
2347240 Here's some Sabaton live if you haven't heard of them. They are awesome.
Protip: start around the 12:30 mark.
2348552 Heh, thanks, I may have checked through your playlist and found some gems I didn't know of.
2350193 I've heard of them, but that's pretty much it. Anyway, thanks for the link, checking it out! (Heck, live-crowds have epic fun, no matter the genre.)
(Sorry V-Pony for a bit OffTopic)
Glad to see things are looking up for both you and the shop, bro! I hope everything continues to get smoother from here on out.
2350923 oh man i am so curious now.
Patience is a virtue. And that virtue meaning more time in bed.
