When Inspiration Strikes · 9:58am Jul 17th, 2014
It has been a while since this happened. You know that moment when you're aiming to go to sleep, but then an idea is playing around in your head and it seems like something you just want to write? Well, that happened to me just before 2:00 AM, and I couldn't shake the feeling after about an hour or so. Giving in to the feeling, I figured I'd grab my laptop and get the small idea out of my head. Now, I'm not saying that my work is all that great, but rather that I was inspired by a couple other great works, and that culminated in this sleep-deprived writing of mine. It's a very short, kind of sad, Scootaloo one-shot. Give it a read if it sounds interesting to you, otherwise, have a great day, and I think I'll take a small nap now.
Thanks for reading,
~(Sleepy)SilentBelle
Hmm.... can predict the ending... doesn't seem happy
Edit: Ordinarily I wouldn't mind, but Scootaloo is my favorite pony character on the show, and I wanna see her happy.
2294023 Fair enough. It's sad, but not the tear-jerking sad. It's more of the bitter despair sort, which some might argue is worse.
2295780 I'd argue it's much worse and near equivalent of an ending that didn't resolve anything, which would drive me nuts
2295782 It's just meant as a small character piece. While left unresolved, I'd like to think that most people could imagine that she'd find a way to soldier through it and become all the stronger for it. I wanted to see if I could pull off a powerful piece in around 1000 words and it turned out better than I had any reason to expect

Before I keep writing, I am not saying your writing in this piece is bad at all. It's probably great (you a great writer ). The whole "I'd like to think people can imagine how the story truly ends and everything turns out okay" doesn't sit well with me. I know it kind of borders on obsessing too much, heck it's kind of like the people who freak out over canon from the show and these stories and stuff like that. But if I didn't care a little then these stories wouldn't be as fun for me. I think if something is going to be written it should be resolved in some manner and if it's not then something else should later on.
