One Neat Thing That I Did Get to Do Last Summer

During August of 2016, my friends and I visited South Korea. When I went there, there were three things in particular that I wanted to do: I wanted to get some good hiking in, I wanted to see some live Starcraft games, and I wanted to do some karaoke. It turns out I got to do all those things and more. If you want to see that Starcraft bit,

    I'm Back, After an Age

    Hey folks,

It sure has been quite a while since I was last on here. I just want to say that I am back to jump back into A Heart of Change and to bring it to its conclusion, and that's the gist of what this blog is about. If you want to hear a rambling story explaining my absence, by all means keep reading.

I Happened to Stumble Upon a Beautiful Treasure

So I just happened to click on the stats button for AHoC because I hadn't done that in quite a while, and suddenly I noticed that I had gotten a few hits from EqD since I had last looked, which I thought was quite strange. So I clicked on the link and ended up on this page which showed the results of an event that

Chapter 24 is Done and Going Through the Final Stages of Editing.

And I aim to publish it sometime tomorrow. Thank you for your considerable patience and continued readership. I'll definitely get the next chapter out in a more timely fashion. I am tentatively aiming to wrap this story up by sometime around August or so.

Now I'm going to go straight into planning and writing the next chapter.

    Cheers,

I'm Back, After an Age · 7:43am Jan 21st, 2017

Hey folks,

It sure has been quite a while since I was last on here. I just want to say that I am back to jump back into A Heart of Change and to bring it to its conclusion, and that's the gist of what this blog is about. If you want to hear a rambling story explaining my absence, by all means keep reading.

To make a long story short, sometime since my last post just after I went to EFNW I somehow became tired, or perhaps drained is a better word, from the MLP fandom. It's not anyone's fault, really, but people just have their interests ebb and flow and I had been spending a long time where whenever I got on my laptop, I'd open my browser to FIMFiction in order to see what had changed since I last was on. This action wore on me gradually, and I felt I needed a break, so I went on a camping trip with friends and stepped away for a month, hoping that my passion for the story would flood back to me.

Unfortunately, doing no writing is an easy habit fall into, and slowly the months began to slip by. Aside from watching a ridiculous amount of anime, I didn't do anything of note, and this made me anxious. As this happened I decided maybe I would focus on my own personal writing project, but it turned out that idea bore little fruit (though the project is not scrapped). In retrospect I suppose I should have just forced myself to write something, or anything, so long as it was some sort of writing. And it wasn't until today that I finally broke through that veil of quiet apprehension and regret.

What I did today was write a single chapter in a small little Slice of Life story. It was a story for myself and about myself, which helped me to remember just what I loved about writing Scion and AHoC in the first place. If I ever feel as though someone other than myself might enjoy it, I'll choose to share it at that time, though it is not MLP related. I now know so poignantly how I should never have allowed myself to stop writing for such a long period of time, doing so had broken down what little structure my life had and I had begun to feel lost.

Thank you to those who have read my story and will continue to do so. Tomorrow after work I'll reread AHoC and get back into my characters' heads, and we'll continue the adventure.

Always appreciating the love and creativity of this fandom. This site is my point of genesis and holds a special place in my heart, and thank you for being a part of it.

~SilentBelle

P.S. Just as a sidenote, I have not seen all of the MLP episodes. The last one I saw was 'A Slice of Life', I think. So please do your best not to spoil me. I'm sure I'll watch the episodes sometime soon. I don't plan on being as active in the fandom as I was prior to my earlier departure, but I definitely want to finish AHoC.

(Also, 6000+ notifications on my feed... Never thought I'd see that. Forgive me if I don't spend the time going through every one of those. I should respond to messages and such from this point onward though.)

Welcome back!

I just thought you were living up to your name.:trollestia:

But all joking aside, it's great to hear from you again, and it will hopefully be just as great to see what you're bringing back with you.

Glad to see you're back! I guess I'll be rereading A Heart of Change(and probably Scion?) very soon as well! You returning is the perfect time to get back into one of the best stories in the fandom. ^_^

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time for a reread to get ready!!!!!

Welcome back we missed you.

...I'm gonna have to get back into editing, aren't I?

Congrats on the diamond league accomplishment, by the way. Never did get to tell ya...

Well hello there, its been a while indeed.

Unfortunately, doing no writing is an easy habit fall into

So true :fluttercry:
I'll easily find myself reading a million words between chapters of my own…

Here's looking forward to more AHoC, though

Welcome back.

Welcome back and glad to hear you took some time for yourself. This is supposed to be fun after all.

To think I came across your wonderful series and read through everything about two weeks ago and found out you'd been gone for many months, but I followed anyway holding out hope that one day you'd come back and continue expanding the wonderful world I've grown to love.
Turns out I arrived just in time, what you've done is wonderful buddy and everybody has times in their life like you had this past near-year and I'm pretty sure most of us don't judge you badly for it.
Can't wait to see what your refreshed outlook on your own life brings, with your stories and without!
We love ya <3

Seeing you back makes my day, dude.

It's good to see you. Welcome back!

Glad to see you're back. A Heart of Change is a fantastic story that I could never bring myself to remove from my tracking list. It's a joy to read, and the wait will surely be worth it when the next chapter comes around.

Look forward to seeing your updates

Welcome back! *hugs you* And I'm way behind on episodes so... yeah lol.

Why does this sound so familiar...? *sighs* I gotta get some writing done XD.

Glad you're back! I was getting worried.

Good to see you are back... I kind of lost all my interest in MLP over a year and half ago... Now I only come here every now and then to check if some of the great stories that I love haven't had an update... I gave up looking for new stories and stuff, but Some of them (like yours) got me hooked up so much that I really want to continue reading them, even though ponies normally do not interest me any more.

Yay! Definitely looking forward to seeing AHOC come to a conclusion.

As you said, not writing is an easy habit to slip into. Glad you found your way back to us.

Your not done with Season 5? Even as Season 6 comes to a close?

There was a lot of great episodes near the end of S5, your gunna love it. Hope you find something there that helps that fandom flame ignite.

Also, I myself have fallen into that anti-writing black hole. A story a friend gave to me hasn't had an update in a good 2 years.

I'm glad to hear you're getting back on your writing feet.

Just a shout out.

Love for this story and your wrighting.
