Yes, you read it first here, people! I'm not about to whine! *recorded audience gasp*
After more than four months of hammering my head against CIAM, I finally gave up. I deleted the whole next chapter and started from scratch. You know what? Writing turned out to be fun for the first time in a long while. I might actually finish that Celestia-damned story one day. Everything apart from that awful scene I've been having trouble with is pretty much ready. Well, ready as in I know what will happen and how, not ready as in actually written. That's just the boring mechanic part.
What I meant to say is: IT MIGHT ACTUALLY BE FINISHED! I was pretty much ready to give up on it, but then I just started throwing random ideas on the fic and suddenly one of them stuck and worked. Let's hope the next update on CIAM won't take another four months!
Oh and for those of you who just can't wait for me to whine about at least something: Crystal Fair sucked for my part because the staff was inexperienced and they didn't know how to handle money issues. Other than that, I had a blast running the tournament and hanging out with my friends despite the several setbacks, which was kinda something I learned from Best Night Ever. Didn't end up with me eating donuts with a Princess, which I count as a minus. Got to meet Tabitha St. Germane, Daniel Ingram, and Anneli Heed for almost two minutes though!

I'm glad you took my advice. That threeway between Cadance, Shining, and Luna just wasn't going to work so early in the story. I mean, the whole Smooze thing which would be a better lead-in and you know it. Especially not with what it would do for Shining's libido.
Good to see some progress. I don't think I could just delete a large swath like that. I spend the extra time to shuffle things around, revise the crap out of the transitions between the shuffles, and then reread until I think it makes sense.

Glad you're out of the rut. I really, really enjoy CIAM. I can handle the sky going dark before it's done so long as the little sign at the bottom never says "cancelled."

Hey, I was just going through my favorites stories list today and came across this story again. I really do hope you end up being able to finish that thing, because I thought it was an interesting thing to read about, with a very different take on things from what I see... essentially everywhere else.
